The Los Angeles Clippers (46-32) proved too much for the Dallas Mavericks (38-41) once again, dominating them for the second straight game with an emphatic 135-104 win on April 6.
Dallas Mavericks Top Performers:
Anthony Davis 27 PTS | 9 REB | 1 STL | 34.8 FPS
Davis came close to posting a dominant double-double, but his struggles were hard to overlook. Offensively, he had trouble finding his rhythm, particularly from three-point range where he shot just 1-for-5. Still, he kept his scoring respectable with a solid performance at the free-throw line. Turnovers also plagued him—six in this game and ten over his last two outings. To make things more difficult, he was seen in visible discomfort during the game, grabbing at his knee and stomach multiple times. He’s been a regular on the injury report with an adductor issue that was projected to keep him out for multiple weeks, yet he’s pushed through. With the team still battling for a play-in spot, Davis’ presence will be crucial. Should he be healthy enough to play, he’s expected to deliver strong performances down the stretch.
Kai Jones 18 PTS | 7 REB | 3 BLK | 37.4 FPS
Jones has been playing a minimal role lately with the team’s health improving. But turned in an elite two-way performance today, almost reaching 20 points in a perfect 9-for-9 shooting while contributing significantly in the defensive end. However, most of his contributions came in the fourth with the game already decided. It’s also unlikely that he gets to see more minutes in their last three games.
PJ Washington 12 PTS | 5 REB | 3 BLK | 26.5 FPS
Washington has been managing an ankle injury that sidelined him for a few games recently. While he appeared in both games against the Clippers, his impact has been somewhat limited. He’s now strung together three straight subpar scoring performances, and his production for his position has been highly erratic.
Spencer Dinwiddie 8 PTS | 6 REB | 9 AST | 27.7 FPS
Dinwiddie struggled badly in offense today, shooting just 1-for-11 from the field. This performance breaks a strong stretch in which he had scored in double digits in 12 of his previous 13 games. He’s also been quieter in offense in recent weeks but he has made up for it with solid peripherals, just not as much on defense recently. Despite some inconsistency, he remains a starter and is expected to continue logging heavy minutes and producing across the board in three games in the final week.
Klay Thompson 14 PTS | 4 3PM | 1 REB | 14.2 FPS
Thompson was slowed by illness in the first leg of their back-to-back against the Clippers, but he bounced back today with a solid scoring performance albeit with little impact elsewhere. While he remains a dependable contributor in scoring and three-point shooting, his value tends to be limited to those areas.
Los Angeles Clippers Top Performers:
James Harden 29 PTS | 7 REB | 14 AST | 59.4 FPS
Harden bounced back today after a rough outing in the first matchup against the Mavs, recording his second double-double in the last three games while shooting an efficient 50% from the field. However, his three-point shot continues to drag down his overall output, averaging just 1-for-5 from deep over his last four games. Still, he remains a reliable contributor and should continue to deliver solid value with four games on tap in the final week.
Kawhi Leonard 29 PTS | 6 REB | 3 STL | 50.7 FPS
Kawhi played his first back-to-back set since returning from a knee injury and was outstanding in both games against the Mavericks. However, his availability for the upcoming back-to-back in the final week remains uncertain, and even if he does play, a minutes restriction is likely. That said, his steady production more than compensates. He’s been exceptional in recent weeks, consistently delivering solid value in at least seven categories—and there’s little reason to expect that to change.
Ivica Zubac 25 PTS | 10 REB | 1 BLK | 43.0 FPS
Big Zu notched his 55th double-double this season in a perfect performance, pouring in a 25-point double-double on a flawless 11-for-11 shooting from the field and 3-for-3 from the line—all without committing a single turnover. He’s the first player in NBA history to achieve such stat line (per @StatMamba on X). With the way he’s been playing, he’s poised to continue producing at a high level in the remaining games.
Bogdan Bogdanovic 7 PTS | 4 REB | 3 AST | 19.3 FPS
Bogdanovic has quietly become a valuable option in deeper fantasy formats lately. Though his shot volume remains modest, he’s been highly efficient—hitting four three-pointers and scoring in double figures in two games before this. Over his last two games, he’s also chipped in decent rebounding and playmaking, further rounding out his production. His minutes are still limited but he should still keep finding ways to be productive.
Derrick Jones Jr. 7 PTS | 4 REB | 1 STL | 16.3 FPS
Jones continues to see limited minutes, and that’s unlikely to change with the team locked in for a higher playoff position. Even so, he’s managed to stay somewhat relevant with some contributions in rebounds and defense in his recent performances.
Biggest Disappointment of the Game:
Naji Marshall 9 PTS | 2 REB | 1 BLK
Marshall’s production has seen a downtick lately with the team getting healthier. Over his last six games, he’s been held to single-digit scoring four times, a sharp contrast to the 23-point average he maintained over a 12-game stretch last month. There’s also a drop in his peripheral categories, particularly in rebounds and steals. Still, he’s expected to retain a steady bench role and should still have good scoring and rebounding performances going forward.
