NBA Daily Metrics: Desmond Bane’s Hot Shooting Lifts Magic Past Heat to Reach NBA Cup Semifinals

Bane converted a season-high six triples and also scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, to match his best scoring performance for the third time this season. He also continues to make an impact in multiple ways, recording at least 9 RA in five of his last six games.

BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE:

Bam Adebayo MIA C 19 PTS  | 8 REB | 3 BLK | 43.6 FPS

Bam has been on a tear, posting his fourth game with at least 19 points, his third with at least 4 stocks while also averaging 10 rebounds in five games this month.

SCORING MACHINES:

Paolo Banchero ORL PF 18 PTS  | 7 REB | 4 AST | 32.4 FPS

Paolo finished with his second-straight 15-point performance since coming back from an injury. He also had a better overall game today after making limited impact in his previous two. 

Norman Powell MIA SG 21 PTS | 7 REB | 3 STL | 40.4 FPS

Norm had been red-hot recently, delivering 28 points in four of a five-game stretch. He hasn’t been as sharp offensively in his last two games, but he’s still averaging 24 points to start the month. He also just recorded his best rebounding performance in his last 17 games and tied his season-high in steals.

Mitchell posted his 12th double-digit scoring game this season while also putting up at least 9 assists in five of his last six games.

Suggs has recorded at least 20 points and multiple steals thrice in his last four while also putting up at least 7 RA in five-consecutive games.

Black averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5 assists in his last two games. He wasn’t as effective today in rebounding but he compensated with some defensive stats.

Herro has been struggling from three, going 2-for-13 in his last two games while also making limited impact in other areas. Still, he finished with his sixth-straight 20-point outing.
