The surging Miami Heat (35-41) fully capitalized on a shorthanded Boston Celtics (56-20) and ended their winning streak with a 123-104 upset on April 3.
Boston Celtics Top Performers:
Jaylen Brown 24 PTS | 9 REB | 4 AST | 37.8 FPS
Brown has been in-and-out of the line-up lately due to a knee problem. His minutes are also being managed because of this but he remains a strong asset in offense, scoring 24 points twice in his last three games. He can also contribute in many ways though maintaining consistency has been a challenge. However, there’s a possibility that he may continue to miss games, so fantasy managers should closely monitor his situation.
Derrick White 16 PTS | 4 REB | 6 AST | 34.8 FPS
White isn’t at his best offensively but remained productive in all shooting categories and continues to score in double-digits for the 29th-consecutive game. He also remained steady on defense with his fifth game with 2+ stocks in past weeks and continues to produce solid lines in rebounding and playmaking.
Luke Kornet 14 PTS | 6 REB | 2 AST | 24.2 FPS
Kornet moved into the starting lineup with the team shorthanded in the frontcourt. While he played limited minutes, he still made a strong impact offensively. He’s now scored double-digit points in four of his last five games while also contributing solid rebounding. If the team continues to be thin at his position, he could be worth considering for deeper formats.
Neemias Queta 7 PTS | 7 REB | 2 AST | 21.4 FPS
Queta stepped up in the rotation today with Horford and Porzingis unavailable, putting up solid numbers in limited minutes. While consistent minutes are unlikely, he should continue to see playing time if the team remains undermanned.
Payton Pritchard 10 PTS | 4 REB | 1 BLK | 19.8 FPS
Pritchard hasn’t been the same lately after missing a game with a hip problem. While his noticeable shooting struggles are hard to overlook, he kept himself relevant with some contributions in other areas. With two manageable matchups ahead, a bounce back is within reach.
Miami Heat Top Performers:
Tyler Herro 25 PTS | 6 REB | 9 AST | 51.7 FPS
Herro had a slow start to the month with some middling performances but his shooting percentages in all areas have begun to trend upward since. While he didn’t have his best shooting performance, he’s still managed to score 25 or more points in each of his last four games. On top of that, he continues to make solid peripheral contributions, though his steal numbers have been hit-or-miss in recent games.
Davion Mitchell 13 PTS | 7 AST | 3 STL | 36.3 FPS
Mitchell has been a major factor off the bench lately, consistently providing a spark on offense with efficient double-digit scoring performances in seven of his last eight games. He also continues to get it done in other areas, racking up solid assists for the fifth consecutive game while maintaining strong steal production. With improved outside shooting and better free-throw numbers, he has the potential to reach another level.
Bam Adebayo 21 PTS | 5 REB | 6 AST | 36.0 FPS
Bam has been solid offensively in recent weeks and has scored 20+ points in three of his last five games. He continues to excel in playmaking, though his rebounding and defense were less impactful today. While his inconsistency can sometimes hurt his fantasy value, he remains a strong asset at his position.
Pelle Larsson 16 PTS | 4 REB | 4 AST | 28.8 FPS
Larsson has been starting in their last three games with Wiggins unavailable due to a hamstring problem and has been contributing across the board with quality numbers. As Wiggins’ status remains unclear, he’s expected to retain an increased role and continue contributing effectively in the games ahead.
Kyle Anderson 19 PTS | 1 REB | 1 STL | 23.7 FPS
Kyle has seen an increased role off the bench recently and took advantage, recording two efficient double-digit scoring performances. Over the past weeks, he’s had multiple games with quality peripherals but his inconsistent playing time continues to make him a difficult fantasy option.
Biggest Disappointment of the Game:
Jayson Tatum 16 PTS | 3 REB | 7 AST
Tatum has been on a tear lately, scoring 25+ points in nine of his last ten games but he struggled badly today. He started cold, shooting just 1-for-8 from the field by halftime and finishing a disappointing 2-for-9 from three. His rebounding numbers were also limited after putting in two straight double-digit games, while his defensive contributions remained quiet. However, it wasn’t all bad—Tatum kept his playmaking sharp, tallying 7+ assists for the fourth time in his last five games. With favorable matchups in their next three games, he should be able to return to form and bounce back strong.
