NBA Daily Metrics: Pacers Overwhelm Knicks, Tyrese Haliburton Puts on a Historic Performance In Game 4 Win While New York Faces Even More Trouble

The Indiana Pacers took control in the third quarter and held strong in the fourth, securing a 130–121 victory against the New York Knicks and moving one win away from reaching the NBA Finals on May 28.

New York Knicks Top Performers:

Jalen Brunson 31 PTS | 5 AST | 2 STL | 46.9 FPS

Brunson had a rough performance in Game 3 but started strong today with 13 first-quarter points. He also was in full attack mode in the third, scoring 13 and going 9-for-10 from the line. He finished with his ninth 30-point performance in the postseason. However, he still had a hard time going against Nesmith’s defense and also averaged 4 turnovers per game. They’ll need him to maintain this level of performance in Game 5 if they hope to stay alive in the series.

OG Anunoby 22 PTS | 3 STL | 2 BLK | 41.3 FPS

OG had a solid start with 9 points in the first half but he was more impactful in the second half, maintaining solid contributions on both sides of the floor. Offensively, he finished with his seventh game with 20+ points in the playoffs and his fourth consecutive with 16 in this series. Defensively, he’s now averaging 2 blocks and 2.3 steals in four games.

Karl Anthony-Towns 24 PTS | 12 REB | 3 AST | 40.9 FPS

Big KAT was the hero in their come-from-behind win in Game 3, and he carried that momentum into today’s game, scoring 12 points in the second quarter alone. He’s been remarkably consistent on offense throughout the series, averaging nearly 26 points per game with solid shooting percentages. However, Towns hurt his knee in the fourth quarter after a collision with Nesmith. While he managed to finish the game, his status remains uncertain. That said, it’s very unlikely for the Knicks to extend the series if Towns is unavailable.

Josh Hart 12 PTS | 11 REB | 1 AST | 21.7 FPS

Hart has been less impactful offensively in this series and has come off the bench for the second straight game. Despite that, he remains productive with his inside play, recording his third double-digit rebounding performance in this matchup—and eighth of the playoffs. However, the team will need more from him if they hope to extend the series.

Mikal Bridges 17 PTS | 3 REB | 2 AST | 20.6 FPS

Bridges had a difficult time on offense but picked up his game in the fourth quarter, knocking down 3 three-pointers—a big improvement after shooting just 2-for-10 in the first three games. This marked his fourth straight game scoring at least 15 points. The only downside was his lack of defensive stats.

Indiana Pacers Top Performers:

Tyrese Haliburton 32 PTS | 12 REB | 15 AST | 80.9 FPS

Haliburton delivered a flawless performance. He got off to an explosive start, going 4-for-4 from three-point range and scoring 18 points in just 13 minutes. He maintained his momentum through the end of the half, finishing with 8 rebounds and 10 assists—his second double-digit assist performance in a half this postseason—along with 20 points, marking his 35th such game this season. His performance was truly one of a kind: he became the only player in NBA history to record 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 15 assists in a game—nearly matching the Knicks’ entire team assist total of 17—all without committing a single turnover.

Pascal Siakam 30 PTS | 5 REB | 1 BLK | 44.0 FPS

Siakam got off to a strong start with 11 points in the first quarter and came up big in the fourth, adding another 11 to help secure the win. He’s been highly efficient over the last three games and has been a consistent offensive option, averaging nearly 26 points in the series. With this momentum, he should have no trouble reaching at least 20 points in Game 5.

Benedict Mathurin 20 PTS | 2 REB | 2 AST | 25.4 FPS

Mathurin didn’t really show up in the first three games of the series, but he came out aggressive today and took full advantage at the line, hitting 10 of 11 free throws. It’s his third playoff game with at least 19 points, but it remains unlikely that he’ll maintain this momentum for Game 5.

Aaron Nesmith 16 PTS | 3 REB | 2 STL | 24.1 FPS

Nesmith hurt his ankle in their Game 3 loss but didn’t slow down and even scored 8 points in the first quarter alone. He finished with at least 15 points for the seventh time in the playoffs. Not only that, but he continues to do a solid job of slowing down Brunson and should continue to be a big part of their defense going forward.

Myles Turner 13 PTS | 3 REB | 3 BLK | 23.1 FPS

Turner continues to struggle from the perimeter but he stays a solid two-way threat, averaging 15 points and 2 blocks in the series. He had two 20-point performances on the road this playoffs and could do it again in Game 5.

Biggest Disappointment of the Game:

Andrew Nembhard 3 PTS | 3 AST | 1 STL |

Nembhard was very efficient in the first two games but has struggled badly in the last two, going just 3-for-18 from the field. He’s currently averaging close to 10 points over four games in this series—a noticeable drop after averaging 14+ points in their first two matchups. Even so, he remains a strong candidate for a big performance in Game 5, shooting at 50% from the floor, 50% from three and going 20-24 from the line in the playoffs.
