Here are the top performers on January 24 and the stats to highlight their impact.
BEST PLAYER OF THE DAY:
Evan Mobley CLE PF 29 PTS | 13 REB | 7 AST | 67.1 FPS (vs. SAC)
Mobley filled up the stat sheet, matching his season high with his 15th 20-point game and notching his 17th double-double of the year. His steady dominance shows in the numbers, ranking 14th in the league in total rebounds and 4th in total blocks.
BREAKOUT:
Saddiq Bey NOP SF 36 PTS | 4 REB | 4 AST | 49.8 FPS (vs. MEM)
The veteran forward continues to have a solid year. After scoring 20 points twice in his last three games, he took his game to another level today, hitting six threes and finishing with his best scoring performance of the season.
SLEEPER:
Jaylon Tyson CLE SG 17 PTS | 7 REB | 4 AST | 28.4 FPS (vs. SAC)
In his last four games, Tyson has remained prolific, averaging 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.3 three-pointers. With the Cavs missing several key players, he’ll continue to have all the opportunities to maintain this level of production.
ELITE ASSET:
Scottie Barnes TOR PF 15 PTS | 9 REB | 6 BLK | 45.8 FPS (vs. POR)
While Scottie struggled offensively, failing to reach 20 points after doing so in his previous five games, he more than made up for it on the defensive end, recording his second straight game with five stocks. He has been one of the league’s best do-it-all players this season, ranking third in combined rebounds and assists and second in stocks.
CATEGORY SPECIALIST:
Cam Spencer MEM PG 21 PTS | 5 REB | 11 AST | 44.5 FPS (vs. NOP)
The crafty guard was less productive in his previous two games after moving back to the bench. However, with Morant sidelined again due to an elbow issue, he returned to the starting lineup and recorded his fourth 10-plus assist performance in six games, along with his fifth 20-point outing of the season.
PLAYER TO WATCH:
Jarace Walker IND PF 26 PTS | 4 REB | 2 STL | 39.3 FPS (vs. OKC)
Despite some inconsistency, Walker remained an important part of the rotation with his ability to knock down threes and contribute across the board. He’s also starting to gain some steam, averaging 22.5 points, 3 threes, and 2 steals in his last two games.
STREAMER:
Bobby Portis MIL PF 11 PTS | 3 3PM | 9 REB | 21.8 FPS (vs. DEN)
The big man has been on a solid offensive run, scoring in double figures for seven straight games while converting at least 2 triples in each of his last six. With Giannis sidelined for at least a month, he should be poised for a much bigger role and maintain this level of production.
FLOPPER:
Zach LaVine SAC SG 10 PTS | 2 3PM | 1 STL | 12.0 FPS (vs. CLE)
LaVine turned in a disappointing performance, failing to score at least 15 points for the first time this month while barely making an impact in other areas.
