NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP Numbers This Season Going Unnoticed Again

Everyone is still glazing over Luka Doncic and his multiple 40-point games or Victor Wembanyama’s seemingly breakout season, yet a perennial superstar, despite his consistent efforts each year, is constantly going unnoticed—Giannis Antetokounmpo. Although the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t as dominant as they were before, the Greek Freak is actually putting up some of the best numbers in his career in the 2025-2026 season.

Giannis Already Averaging Career-Highs in Points, Assists, and Field Goals This Season

It may only be just about a month into the 2025-2026 season, but Giannis Antetokounmpo is already putting up career-best numbers in year 13. Right now, the Greek Freak is averaging career-high 31.2 points and 6.8 assists per game, making 62.9% of his attempts including a super 50% three-point field goal percentage, all while also grabbing 10.8 rebounds and 2.1 stocks (steals and blocks) a night. In fact, that stat line is slightly better than his 2019-2020 MVP season, where he recorded 29.5 PPG, 5.6 APG, and 13.6 RPG on

Despite the efforts, the Bucks are still stuck in mediocrity in the East, which could be the reason why they keep flying under the radar. They’re currently sitting at the 11th seed with an 8-7 win-loss record, though their playoff hopes are still alive, considering the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers aren’t a threat anymore.

Antetokounmpo Unsurprisingly in MVP Talks … Again

Well, he may not get the attention from the fans and analysts he deserves, but the league is actually recognizing him as a dark horse to win his third MVP award. According to the NBA’s latest Kia Most Valuable Player ladder for the month of November, Antetokounmpo is currently ranked third in the MVP race behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic. Since 2021, Giannis has always been in the top four in MVP voting and continues to dominate on both ends of the floor.

Although he’s operating this season without an All-Star caliber teammate, Giannis’ consistency as a double-double machine and defensive menace just proves he’s still a top 3-5 player in the league. It’s just sad seeing that 30-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo’s peak is being wasted by Milwaukee, which seems not to be catching a break, and who are just a shell of their 2021 champion selves.
