If losing at home against a Los Angeles Clippers team without Kawhi Leonard is bad, wait until you learn more about Steph Curry’s ankle injury last Sunday, October 27.
The Golden State Warriors returned to the Bay area after two consecutive road wins to start the 2024-2025 NBA season. However, their first home game was met with disasters after a subpar performance against the Clippers and an apparent injury that could halt the team’s playoff aspirations.
Led by James Harden’s 23 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds plus Ivica Zubac’s dominant 23 points and 18 boards, the Clips handed the Dubs their first loss of the season, 112-104. Despite losing Kawhi due to injuries, they still spoiled GSW’s hot start as well as Andrew Wiggins’ 29-point showcase.
However, catastrophe struck the fans after seeing the two-time NBA MVP roll his ankle, twice. The first instance was during the third quarter, but he was able to return to the floor shortly. Unfortunately, it happened a second time during the fourth period, resulting in him leaving the court.
Steph Curry’s Injury Update
Warriors fans are having flashbacks of their 2019-2020 season, back when Curry missed 77 games due to a broken hand.
The Warriors made an announcement earlier regarding the superstar’s injuries, stating that the injury he sustained after rolling his ankles resulted in a left peroneal strain. Fortunately, after undergoing an MRI, results showed that there was no structural damage but his return is still questionable. Fans will have to wait until Friday, November 1, for Curry to be re-evaluated.
The Golden State Warriors will stay in California for their upcoming back-to-back matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday.
