The short-handed Memphis Grizzlies broke their two-game slump in an emphatic display, crushing the Milwaukee Bucks 122-99 on November 1.

Ja Morant’s impact was undeniable, dominating the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists. It was his 12th triple-double of his career. His standout performance was backed strongly by his teammates. Santi Aldama, who was thrust into a starting role, added a solid 19 points and 9 rebounds. Zach Edey provided 10 points and 8 rebounds. Jaylen Wells and Scottie Pippen Jr. both scored 16.

Giannis Antetokounmpo put on yet another ridiculous performance, racking up 37 points and 11 rebounds. The Greek Freak was a one-man wrecking crew, literally, carrying the load all by himself as the rest of the squad failed to catch up. Damian Lillard, in particular, was completely shut down, managing just 4 points on a dismal 1-of-12 shooting. He also missed all of his three-point attempts tonight. It was a team-wide disaster, with Milwaukee shooting a horrendous 9 for 42 from distance. The loss marked their fourth straight.

Memphis emerged with a commanding (36-17) lead early in the game after a 19-1 explosion. Scotty Pippen Jr. took center stage scoring 9 points.

Morant Put On A Show

Giannis stepped up in the second and brought the Bucks within 7 (42-49). But Morant wouldn’t let his squad lose control. He halted the comeback with an unbelievable assist to Aldama for a reverse dunk. He then scored or assisted on their next 19 points, as the Grizzlies extended their lead to a comfortable 22 points. He was on the verge of a triple-double by halftime.

Memphis further punished the Bucks after the break, erupting for a decisive 21-8 run that put the Bucks in a deeper hole. Jackson Jr., made it even worse, draining a shot to stretch the gap to a demoralizing 30 points (95-65). The game was all but decided at that point.
