The Phoenix Suns (7-1) rallied from 15 down to stun the Miami Heat (3-4) 115-112 on November 7.
Kevin Durant, always the reliable, buried 32 points, including a dagger with 16.1 seconds left, as the Suns extended their winning streak to six games, matching their franchise-best start to a season. Devin Booker orchestrated their offense perfectly with 22 points and 9 assists while Jusuf Nurkic delivered a powerhouse performance with a very efficient 20 points, shooting perfect from 3, and 18 rebounds.
For the Heat, Tyler Herro pioneered their efforts with a commanding 28 points, shooting 5-of-9 from three, complete with 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Bam Adebayo, filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals while Haywood Highsmith bolstered their attack with 18 points and 7 rebounds from the bench.
Durant and Nurkic Fueled the Suns’ Offense
The Suns came out blazing, knocking down four straight threes to build a (26-19) lead. But the Heat rallied fiercely, closing the gap to a single point. The Suns sustained their hot shooting in the second, with Nurkic hitting a pair of threes to lead (44-40). However, Burks ignited a 10-2 run with a three-pointer, as Adebayo and Butler teamed up to give the Heat a slight advantage at halftime.
Miami carried their momentum in the third, erupting on a 26-9 run to build their biggest lead at (84-69). Herro sparked the offensive explosion with 10 points. But the Suns found a way to respond, with a balanced attack to cut the lead to 3 heading into the fourth. The score stayed neck-and-neck until the Suns used a quick 5-point burst to gain a slight edge with under 4 minutes remaining. Durant then took control, scoring the next 8 points to complete the comeback win.
