The Los Angeles Lakers are undefeated (6-0) at home after taking down the Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies, 128-123, behind another record-breaking output from LeBron James.
The King Breaks Another Record
Not only did LeBron shatter the boards, but the 39-year-old superstar also broke the record he himself had just created days earlier.
After handing the Toronto Raptors a triple-double dub last November 11, LeBron became the oldest player to record back-to-back triple-doubles. Then came another stellar performance against the Grizzlies on November 14 where he had double digits in scoring, rebounds, and assists, making him the oldest active NBA player to ever record three consecutive triple-doubles.
In his finest performance of the season, The King gathered 35 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds. Eleven of his points and 7 of his rebounds came in during the fourth period.
Helping LeBron on offense and dedense is Anthony Davis, who recorded 21 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. AD also broke the 18,000-point mark. Rui Hachimura and rookie Dalton Knecht also contributed with 19 pointd apiece for the win.
Despite Ja Morant’s absence, the Grizzlies were still able to hold their ground with an impressive night from Jaren Jackson Jr. and the return of 2022 Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart. JJJ put up 29 points and 7 rebounds on 50% shooting. Meanwhile, Santi Aldama, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Marcus Smart all had 15 points each. Zach Edey and Luke Kennard, on the other hand, gave 12 points each.
The Lakers improve their record to 7-4 and has moved to the sixth seed in the West. The 2020 champions will hop on the road again on November 17 to meet the New Orleans Pelicans.

The two rookies from Memphis are already making a name for themselves early in the season! Both Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey are frontrunners for the Rookie of the Year ladder as per the latest updates from the NBA. Will one of these rising stars be named the future RoY?
