The NBA offered up a nine-game slate on Monday, and two players in two of those games—Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs—certainly stood out. A third, LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets, also made some franchise history in a day full of remarkable performances all around.

Austin Reaves Drops 50-Piece as Lakers Overcome Kings

Down their two best players in Luka Doncic and LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers (2-1) leaned on the impressionable Austin Reaves, who delivered 51 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists to lead the Purple and Gold to a 127-108 victory over the Sacramento Kings (1-2) at Golden 1 Center.

The 51 points are a career-best for Austin Reaves, who shot 12-for-22 from the field and 21-for-22 from the foul line. Deandre Ayton provided solid support for AR15, finishing with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Rui Hachimura added 18.

Zach LaVine led the Kings with 32 points. DeMar DeRozan chipped in 21, while Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook had 18 apiece.

The San Antonio Spurs moved to 3-0 for the season on Monday as Victor Wembanyama had another standout game to lead his team to a 118-107 triumph at Frost Bank Center.

Wembanyama put up 31 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks in another superb all-around showing. With his 31 points and 6 blocks, Wemby became the first player in NBA history to record at least 100 points with 18 or more blocks through the first three games of the season. Dylan Harper, who finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists, also made some history of his own as the youngest guard to record a 20-5-5 stat line with no turnovers.

Cam Thomas made the Nets competitive in this one with a 40-point outburst, while Michael Porter Jr. fired 16.
