It was an exciting 10-game slate in the NBA on Thursday that featured plenty of thrilling action and down-to-the-wire finishes. In fact, Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, and Jrue Holiday of the Portland Trail Blazers all came up huge in their teams’ wins.

Lakers Fend Off Wolves Behind Austin Reaves’ Game-Winner

Austin Reaves continued to shine without LeBron James and Luka Doncic, firing 28 points and the game-winner to lead the Los Angeles Lakers (3-2) to a 116-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (2-3) at Target Center.

Reaves, who also had 16 assists, split a double-team off a pick-and-roll at the top of the key and got to the paint, where he floated an off-balance one-hander that hit nothing but net. Jake LaRavia backstopped Reaves with 27 big points, while Deandre Ayton and Rui Hachimura had 17 apiece.

Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels fired 33 and 30, respectively, for the Wolves, who were without superstar guard Anthony Edwards. Their loss to the Lakers is their second in a week.
