NBA Cup action continued around the Association on Sunday with an eight-game slate that saw a superstar guard—Devin Booker—continue a stellar start to the season, a young star in De’Aaron Fox make his season debut, and an emerging force fire a career high in a win. Let’s see the daily notables in the NBA:
Suns Beat Clippers Again as Devin Booker Continues Fine Play
The Phoenix Suns (5-5) beat the Los Angeles Clippers (3-6), 114-103, at Intuit Dome for their second victory over the same team in three days.
Devin Booker led the way for the Suns with a near triple-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Booker, in the Suns’ previous win over the Clippers, became the first player in NBA history to average 30 points and 7 assists per game while shooting at least 50% from the field, 40% from downtown, and 85% from the free-throw line through the first nine games of the season. The superstar guard’s stellar play continued against the Clippers, and he had plenty of help, with Mark Williams adding 19, Dillon Brooks chipping in 16, and Grayson Allen scattering 16.
Ivica Zubac had 21 points and 15 rebounds for the struggling Clippers, who got a combined 25 points from superstar James Harden and former Sun Bradley Beal.
