Sunday’s lean five-game slate got even leaner quickly as the NBA postponed the Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks tussle scheduled at State Farm Arena. The matchup was postponed due to severe icy weather and is the fourth one suspended over the past three days. One of the games that was actually played—Miami Heat vs. Portland Trail Blazers—was a laugher, with the Heat building a double-digit lead in the force half en route to a win at Moda Center.

The other three games, though, brought some heat and excitement, with one going to the final buzzer. Check out the action here:

Grizzlies Win vs. Wolves with Ja Morant’s Wild Floater

Ja Morant hit a tough off-balanced floater from just outside the lane to nudge the Memphis Grizzlies (25-14) to a 127-125 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves (20-18) at Target Center.

Morant’s bucket was just for his 12th point of the game but proved enough to give the Grizz the win in a tight battle right from the get-go. Jaren Jackson Jr. continued his strong play for Memphis with 33 points and 8 rebounds, while Desmond Bane chipped in 23 points, 5 boards, and 5 dimes.

Donte DiVincenzo led the Wolves with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Jaden McDaniels had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Anthony Edwards was limited to just 15 points and missed what could have been the game-winning three.

Pistons Top Raptors Behind Cade Cunningham

Cade Cunningham notched his seventh triple-double this 2024–25 NBA season to lead the Detroit Pistons (20-19) to a 123-114 win over the Toronto Raptors (8-31) at Little Caesars Arena.

Cunningham had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and a season-high 17 assists to help the Pistons move to over .500 for the first time this season. Tim Hardaway Jr. led all scorers with 27 points on 7-for-8 shooting from downtown. Malik Beasley and Tobias Harris fired 18 and 17, respectively, and combined for six more triples.

Immanuel Quickley’s 25 points led the Raptors, who had six other players score in double-figures—including Chris Boucher and Bruce Brown chipping in 14 apiece off the bench.

Suns Notch Much-Needed Win against Jazz

Devin Booker came alive for the Phoenix Suns (18-19) for a much-needed 114-106 victory over the Utah Jazz at Footprint Center.

Booker, who has struggled as of late, scattered 34 points on 12-for-20 shooting and helped the Suns race out 65-54 halftime lead. Kevin Durant added 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists to help Phoenix upend every Jazz uprising after intermission.

Lauri Markkanen had 25 markers for the Jazz, while Walker Kessler finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
