The Association had a busy nine-game slate on Sunday as action continues to heat up in the 2024–25 NBA Season. We take a look at three notable games highlighted by superlative performances:
Jalen Brunson Nets 55, Helps Knicks Past Wizards
Jalen Brunson exploded for 55 big points to lead the New York Knicks past the lowly Washington Wizards, 136-132, in overtime at Capital One Arena.
The Knicks (21-10) needed every one of Brunson’s points—including the 42 he scored after intermission—as the Wizards (5-24) took a 98-90 lead going to the fourth. He took over in OT, where he scored nine of the Knicks’ 17 points.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Knicks, who now have won seven straight. Justin Champagnie had a career game for the Wizards with 31 points and 10 boards, while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in 22.

Blazers Overcome Kyrie Irving’s 46 in Upset vs. Mavs
Shaedon Sharpe scored 23 points and had 4 dimes to help the Portland Trail Blazers overcome Kyrie Irving’s season-high 46 and notch a 126-122 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at Moda Center.
Anfernee Simons had 22 points and 8 dimes for the Blazers (11-20), while Deandre Ayton added 21 points and 16 rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie finished with 17, while Daniel Gafford and Quentin Grimes had 15 each for the Mavs (20-12), who once again started slow and were playing minus the injured Luka Doncic.

Anthony Davis Dominates in Lakers’ Season Sweep of Kings
The Los Angeles Lakers (18-13) finished a season sweep of the Sacramento Kings (13-19) with a 132-122 triumph at crypto.com Arena.
Anthony Davis’s 36 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists led the way for the Lakers, who was missing the services of an ill LeBron James. Austin Reaves added 26 points and a career-high 16 dimes. Rui Hachimura chipped in 21. De’Aaron Fox had 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings, who were playing their first game under interim coach Doug Christie after the firing of Mike Brown.
