Amid the rough stretch of not having Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks are now left with a huge void in offense. Their crushing defeat against the Denver Nuggets heavily proved that point.

Although Dallas has quite a deep roster, without their two superstars, they still fell at the hands of Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. However, a “washed” Klay Thompson gave his finest performance of the season for Dallas so far, proving every hater and critic wrong and showcasing that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank.

Klay and the Mavericks started out strong against the 2023 NBA champions. Despite the absence of their top guys, it still seemed like they could go toe-to-toe with MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic.

Unfortunately, the Mavs suddenly went cold and played terribly in the fourth quarter. Eventually, the Nuggets pulled off another road win.

Klay, like the insane shooter he was, made six triples in thirteen attempts, finishing with a team-high 25 points. Behind him are Spencer Dinwiddie and Nnaji Marshall who both got 16.

Klay Reaches Bigger Heights in the NBA

In a terrific shoot-around performance, the 34-year-old also achieved a new career milestone to add to his resume. After an impressive scoring barrage, the 4-time champ finally surpasses 16,000 career points. Klay broke the 16k-point milestone in a very Klay fashion … nailing a three-pointer!

On the other hand, Jokic was just an assist away from recording another triple-double. The Joker went up for 19 points, 18 rebounds, and 9 assists. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook continues his brilliance after dropping 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.

After the game, Thompson gave some huge props to Jokic and said that the Serbian superstar may just be the best big man he ever played against. Mad respect from a legendary player to one of the best players in today’s game.
