The Golden State Warriors suffered a terrible defeat at the hands of the Houston Rockets. However, it wasn’t their devastating loss nor Steph Curry’s off-night that made the headlines. Instead, it’s Draymond Green. In the early stretch of the game, Green was involved in yet another controversial play after hitting Alperen Sengun’s face with his elbow. Immediately, Green was called for a technical foul following the altercation with the Rockets bench while still arguing with the referees. This uncalled-for action raised concerns from fans regarding a possible suspension of Green.

Technically, Green Won’t be Handed a Suspension. But …

This is Green’s 13th technical foul of the season. Because of previous incidents (we see you, Rasheed Wallace), the NBA imposed a rule that a player will be suspended for one game after reaching 16th technical fouls in a season.

Just lately, Dillon Brooks and Anthony Edwards were both handed a one-game suspension after accumulating 16 technical fouls.

Draymond, on the other hand, hasn’t picked up his 16th yet, so technically, he still won’t be suspended. However, this doesn’t take away the possibility that the association may impose a hefty fine on Green, who has received multiple fines in his decade-long career.

Draymond Green, known for his fiery attitude and intense defense, has always received flak for a series of altercations, brawls, and his insane on-court antics. For so long, his being a loose cannon ready to erupt at any moment’s notice is sometimes misinterpreted as being a guy who plays with passion.

Regardless of his reputation, Green has always been the heart of the Golden State Warriors. This season, the former DPoY is once again having a solid year and is back in the discussion for the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.
