Both San Sebastian College-Recoletos and the Arellano University have ended their NCAA Season 100 elimination games with a victory last May 27 2025.

High Note for the Lady Stags

San Sebastian Lady Stags ended their Round 1 with a record of 5-4 but a shaky Round 2 had them falling from the standings. Prior to this match, they were the #7 in the team standings while the EAC Lady Generals were at the #8.

Graduating student Von Dimaculangan was on a mission as this would be the last time that she would play for San Sebastian before turning pro.

She made sure that despite their squad not making it to the postseason, that won’t stop them in getting this win. She had 19 out of their 20 excellent sets along with 5 points. But it wasn’t her scoring that stood out, it was also her sharing the ball to her teammates.

Three spikers scored double digits for the Lady Stags. Divine Garcia had 14 points and then KJ Dionisio and Julia Gonzales both scored 11 points each.

Despite losing Set 1, the Lady Stags still get their 8th win of the season along with 10 losses.

Final Score: 25-15, 25-23, 25-20, 25-16

According to San Sebastian consultant Roger Gorayeb, in a report from GMA Network, on top of improving the Lady Stags’ mental toughness, they will also try to recruit new players considering that Dimaculangan won’t be there for them come next season.

Meanwhile for the side of the Lady Generals, Cara Dayanan led her team with 16 points followed by Jing Alimen scoring 15 points.

Graduating students Jaja Villena and Alex Razonable scored 12 points each for the last time being part of the Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Also included in the report of GMA was Assistant coach Sid Gerella mentioning that EAC’s campaign this time has already improved unlike last Season 99 where the team didn’t win a single game.

“Maganda ang performance ng women’s, kailangan lang siguro namin dagdagan pa ang efforts namin and experience pa. For sure, kaya namin maging mas competitive pa. Although galing kami sa zero, good pa rin ang performance kasi hindi kami naka-zero this year and nakalaban kami sa top tier teams kaya good pa rin ang ending ng season,”

The EAC Lady Generals ended their Season 100 with a record of 4 wins and 14 losses.

Lady Chiefs Survives 5-Set Thriller

Battling a team with nothing to lose is one tough challenge. That is exactly what the Arellano Lady Chiefs had to experience when they battled against the LPU Lady Pirates.

This will be the last match for both teams. The Lady Chiefs wish to have a higher seeding in the Final Four while the Lady Pirates are seeking to end their season with a victory for pride and glory.

It was a cinematic masterpiece as no team won 2 straight sets. Though in the end, the Lady Chiefs win their match in a 5-set thriller.

Final Score: 25-16, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16, 15-5

After losing in Set 4, Head Coach Obet Javier remained optimistic as they were able to build a 10-3 lead in Set 5.

“Siyempre masaya kami dahil ‘yong target naming season is nakuha namin” he shared in the report of GMA Network. “So sabi ko nga last time ‘yong makapasok muna kami sa Final Four, nakuha naman tapos saka kami na i-ta-target sa susunod.” he added.

Sam Tiratira was the best player of the game with 18 points from 14 attacks, 3 blocks and 1 ace. Her teammate Pauline De Guzman scored 17 points from her 13 attacks.

The Lady Chiefs ended the elimination round with a 12-6 record.

On the other hand, despite not making it to the Final Four, Ashley Muchillas scored 20 points for LPU. Johna Dolorito had 15 points and Joann De Guzman had 14 points.

The Lyceum of the Philippines University gets an 8-9 record with their last game against the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde on Friday, May 30 2025.
