De La Salle-College of St. Benilde successfully claimed their 4th straight title as they beat Colegio de San Juan De Letran in Game 2 of NCAA Season 100 Finals last June 11, 2025, at FilOil Centre, San Juan City.

3-Set Sweep for the Championship

Unlike in Game 1, wherein the Letran Lady Knights were able to win Set 1, in Game 2 of the Finals, the CSB Lady Blazers didn’t give any chance of hope as they completed a 3-set sweep to win the championship.

Following a tightly contested second set, the third frame began with both the CSB Lady Blazers and the Letran Lady Knights locked in a tight exchange, tied at 8-all. But Benilde shifted momentum with a 4-0 run, fueled by the efforts of Zam Nolasco and Mycah Go. The Lady Blazers maintained their edge, pulling ahead 19-14 as Wielyn Estoque and Aya Densing added to the scoring burst for the Taft-based squad.

Letran’s Niccen Colendra tried to mount a late rally, trimming the deficit with a series of key plays to bring the score to 23-16. Densing then brought CSB to match point, but the Lady Knights fought back with three straight points to stay in contention at 24-19. However, Cristy Ondangan stepped up to deliver the finishing blow, sealing the win for the Lady Blazers.

Final Score: 25-19, 25-22, 25-19

Cristy Ondangan powered the Lady Blazers with 13 points in Game 2, coming from 10 attacks, two blocks, and an ace, while Clydel Catarig chipped in 11 points to aid the win. Two-time league MVP Mycah Go, who was also awarded Finals MVP honors, added nine points and contributed nine receptions in the clincher.

On the other side, the Letran Lady Knights were led by Vanessa Sarie and Judiel Nitura, who finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

In a story from GMA News Online, here’s what Head Coach Onyok Getigan has to say after winning the title: “Ito ang hinihintay natin. Masarap kasi nito lang kami natalo, then nakabalik, nakapag-adjust. ‘Yung journey namin patungo sa championship talaga, ‘yun ang the best. Ang haba ng serye. Nakita n’yo kung paano kami nag-struggle, then nakabalik,”

Head Coach Onyok Getigan also won the Head Coach of the Year Award.

Go secured her second MVP crown, having previously won the award in Season 97. She ended the elimination round with 174 points, placing 26th among the league’s top scorers. After sitting out Season 98 due to multiple injuries, the veteran outside hitter made a strong return and proved instrumental for CSB’s campaign.

In addition to being named MVP, Go was also recognized as the second-best server with an average of 0.33 aces per set and ranked eighth among spikers with a 29.86% success rate. As she led the Lady Blazers to the brink of a fourth consecutive championship, her impact was further highlighted by her inclusion as one of the Best Outside Spikers.

She shared that award with Letran’s rising star Vanessa Sarie, who had a breakout season and earned both Rookie of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors.

CSB’s Zam Nolasco was recognized as one of the Best Middle Blockers, sharing the accolade with KJ Dionisio from San Sebastian College-Recoletos.
