The Nxled Chameleons handed the Cignal Super Spikers their first loss of the conference, sweeping them, 25-19, 25-22, 27-25, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Saturday, February 14.
With the win, Nxled remained unbeaten and further solidified its early-season statement.
After taking the first two sets, the Chameleons built a 19-14 cushion in the third. Cignal, however, refused to fold, trimming the deficit to 22-21 behind key plays from Gel Cayuna, Tin Tiamzon, and Erin Pangilinan.
Tense Ending Gives Way to Sweep
The teams exchanged blows in a tense closing stretch before Brooke Van Sickle broke the deadlock with a sharp cross-court hit to give Nxled a 26-25 edge. Vanie Gandler’s ensuing attack error sealed the sweep and lifted the Chameleons to their third straight win.
“Honestly, we expect a very difficult game today because they are playing really good. They have a very nice beginning of the conference; they have three wins in a row. So, we expect to have a tough game, and we had a tough game,” said head coach Ettore Guidetti.
Van Sickle and MJ Phillips shared the scoring load with 14 points apiece, while Myla Pablo added 12 points built on 9 attacks and 3 blocks.
For Cignal, Erika Santos was the lone player in double figures with 15 points on 14 attacks. Pangilinan contributed 7 points, while Cayuna and Gandler added 5 each in the losing effort.
