PBA All-Star Weekend: What to Know, What to Expect, Where to Watch

The PBA All-Star Weekend is back.

The league’s annual showcase will be taking place from March 6 to 8 in Candon City in Ilocos Sur. It is making a comeback after last year’s PBA All-Star Weekend, which was supposed to be held in Davao, was canceled almost at the last minute due to security concerns.

This year, however, it is all systems go. In fact, the PBA contingent is already in Candon City as we speak and raring to give the fans a show.

Obstacle Course Kicks Off PBA All-Star Weekend

Season 50’s PBA All-Star Weekend kicks off on Friday, March 6, with the Obstacle Challenge starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Candon City Arena. This event will have separate categories for big men and guards. The participants are as follows:

After the Obstacle Challenge will be the PBA ArenaPlus Rookies/Sophomores vs. Juniors game at 7:00 p.m. The Rookies and Sophomores will be led by Sedrick Barefield, while the Juniors will be captained by Ricci Rivero. (View the full lineups HERE.)

Three-Point Shootout to Serve as Appetizer to PBA All-Star Game

On Sunday, the last day of the PBA All-Star Weekend, festivities will start at 5:30 p.m. with the Daily Fantasy Shooting Star contest, where TNT’s Calvin Oftana is the defending champion. It will be followed by the PBA ArenaPlus All-Star Game at 7:30 p.m. This year’s game will bring back the traditional North vs. South contest. (Check out the full lineups HERE.)

The PBA All-Star Weekend will be telecast live on RPTV on free TV and PBA Rush on cable. All the events and games will also be streamed live on the One Sports YouTube channel.
