Here are the players who made the biggest impact on April 5 and the stats to highlight their impact.
TOP PERFORMERS OF THE DAY:
James Dickey III PHX C 13 PTS | 14 REB | 4 AST | 60.8 FPS
The big man had a difficult time finding his rhythm on the scoring end, finishing with a conference-low point total. But he more than made up for it by filling up the stat sheet, recording another double-digit rebounding performance while also tying the team-high in assists. Defensively, he was on a completely different level, racking up five steals and four blocks.
Robert Lee Bolick NLX PG 22 PTS | 5 REB | 14 AST | 53.0 FPS
In his first four games in the conference, Bolick has further proved his status as one of the top players in the league, ranking third in scoring with an average of 22.75 points while matching the league best in playmaking with 7.0 per game. But he took it up another notch today, reaching the 20-point mark for the fourth time in five games while also delivering a conference-high in assists.
Justin Brownlee GIN SF 31 PTS | 2 STL | 2 BLK | 47.1 FPS
The star import wasn’t at the same level he showed earlier in the conference. While he did score at least 30-point games for the fourth consecutive game, he struggled from deep, shooting just 3-of-15. He was also less impactful on the boards and as a playmaker, while tying his conference-high for turnovers.
Cady Lalanne NLX C 29 PTS | 10 REB | 2 BLK | 43.0 FPS
Despite his struggles from the three-point area in the tournament, Lalanne has continued to excel from two-point range, recording his fifth consecutive 20-point performance and his most productive outing so far. He has been just as steady on the boards, finishing with at least 10 rebounds in every game this conference.
Justin Nicholas Patton SMB C 19 PTS | 17 REB | 1 BLK | 42.9 FPS
In his first two games in the conference, Patton has already proven his caliber in the interior, recording two big double-doubles. While it’s an impressive start, the Beermen will hope that he still has more to give in the coming games.
Jaymar Perez SMB SG 20 PTS | 8 REB | 3 STL | 42.1 FPS
Perez struggled through the first three quarters but came alive when it mattered most, dropping 15 points in the final period to lead the team in scoring and finish with his fourth 20-point outing of the conference.
Rhon Jay Abarrientos GIN PG 16 PTS | 7 AST | 2 STL | 35.3 FPS
RJ had a rough time offensively, shooting just 5-for-17 from the field, but made up for it with his playmaking, finishing with a game-high assist total. He’s been highly impressive in that area this conference, committing his first two turnovers in today’s game and maintaining a league-best assist-to-turnover ratio.
Anthony Paul Semerad NLX PF 15 PTS | 9 REB | 1 STL | 27.8 FPS
Semerad came through again offensively, knocking down five threes to reach double figures for the third time in his last four games. Over that span, he’s been lethal from three-point territory, hitting a total of 14 triples. This level of production will be crucial for the team moving forward as they look to sustain their strong start this conference.
Deschon Winston NLX SG 16 PTS | 3 REB | 1 BLK | 25.6 FPS
Schonny continues to play solidly for NLEX, reaching double figures in scoring in every game so far while also making a positive impact across the board. Last conference with Converge, he was also a vital contributor, averaging 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:
Junemar Fajardo SMB C 6 PTS | 13 REB | 2 AST | 22.6 FPS
The nine-time MVP was terribly inefficient in today’s outing, shooting just 2-for-13 from the floor and finishing with a conference-low in scoring. But he stayed productive on the boards, recording his fifth straight game with double-digit rebounds. Performances like this have been rare for JMF, so he should be back to his usual dominant form in their next games.
