To end the last games of Week 3 in Philippine Football League last Sunday, September 21 2025, both Kaya Iloilo FC and One Taguig FC beat their opponents with ease.
Sherwin Basindanan Puts Kaya at the Top of Standings Going 3-0
To begin the games of a rainy Sunday afternoon, Kaya Iloilo (2-0) played the Valenzuela PB Mendiola (1-0).
Prior to this match, history says Kaya can win the game as in the last 15 meetings between the 2 squads, Iloilo has won 12 times while the other 3 ended in a draw.

Just 13:43 in the match, Mike Ott scored near the goal after a pass from Kaishu Yamazaki. It was then followed by a kick of Geri Martini Rey in the 17:59 mark after a pass by Gavin Muens. The 3rd goal occurred at the 30:38 mark of the 1st half when a pass from Magnus Leonardo Ravn Thofner was connected by Marwin Janver Angeles through a head kick against 2 Valenzuela defenders.

To wrap up the 1st half, Kaya FC scored 2 more goals delivered by Mike Ott again 32:46 and Sherwin Basindanan 34:38.
For the 2nd half, it was nothing but the same for Iloilo. 5 minutes into the 2nd period, Basindanan converted the pass of Thofner and Sherwin scored yet again through a counterattack in the 56:36 mark.
The last goal was converted by Jovin Bedic after a pass from Lucas del Rosario in the 91:05 mark to end the game.

Basindanan said in his post game interview that his performance signifies his wish to hopefully have rotational minutes with the team moving forward this season.
“Gusto ko lang magcontribute sa team. Gusto ko lang i-prove na maging part ako ng rotation ng team.”
Patrick Reichelt Keeps Aguilas UMak Winless in the Season
For the last game of Sunday evening, One Taguig FC (1-0) faced off against a winless Aguilas UMak FC (0-1).

Andres Rafael Aldeguer was leading the counterattack and despite a 2-on-4 disadvantage, he still continued his shot but the ball was unintentionally kicked by Jose Miguel Clarino from Aguilas which puts Taguig to lead 1-0 in the 31:54 mark of the 1st half.
Guillermo Nahuel Amarilla loses the ball against Patrick Reichelt to create a 3-on-1 fastbreak where Aguilas Goalkeeper had no answer as Isaac Opuku Agyemang scores at the 41:06 mark.

And in the 2nd half, both teams struggled to score until the 94:51 mark after a penalty kick was given to Reichelt again as he got fouled by the Aguilas goalkeeper.

Despite Patrick scoring 2 goals to win the match it was Naoto Hiraishi that was named the best player of the contest and shared this in his postgame interview: “He wasn’t really pleased with his performance last game so he wanted to give the best today. And then coach wasn’t really happy with his performance as well so he had a pressure on his game today but he’s happy they get the 3 points and good performance.” his interpreter said.
