The 2025-26 Season of the Philippines Football League opened their festivities last August 30, Saturday with 4 teams making their season debut.
Kaya-Iloilo Demolishes Philippine Army
Kaya-Iloilo showed no mercy in their season debut, dismantling Philippine Army from start to finish.
Team captain and hometown star Jhan Melliza led the charge with a hat-trick, sealing his third goal deep in stoppage time to put the exclamation mark on Kaya’s dominance.
Newcomer Mike Ott also made an immediate impact with a brace, while Jovin Bedic, Kenshiro Daniels, Shuto Komaki, Martini Rey, Mar Diano, and Audie Menzi each added to the scoresheet. By halftime, Kaya had already built a decisive lead, reflecting the champions’ relentless pace and precision.
FINAL SCORE: Kaya-Iloilo 12 – 0 Philippine Army
The Player of the Match award was given to Jhan Melliza.
Saikouba Ceesay Fuels Manila Digger FC to the Victory
Not to be outdone, Manila Digger FC also flexed its firepower over Valenzuela PB-Mendiola.

Saikouba Ceesay spearheaded the offense with a hat-trick, supported by a double from Modou Joof, who converted from the penalty spot before striking again in open play.
Additional goals from Kenji Nishioka, Ousman Gai, and Dilane Wamba Tafem highlighted the depth of Digger’s attacking unit. Valenzuela fought back with consolation efforts from Victor Fayol and veteran Ruben Doctora Jr., but the defending runners-up remained firmly in control throughout.

PFL has already released their September schedule with their games only occurring every weekend as the other teams will make their 2025-25 season debut.
On September 13, Saturday, the Tuloy Football Club will make their first impression against Maharlika FC at 3:00 PM.
It is then followed by the game between One Taguig FC going up against Dynamic Herb Cebu FC at 5:45 PM.
Lastly, at 8:30 PM the Aguilas-UMak will try to even the record of Kaya-Iloilo.
