The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) have announced their Philippine Women’s National Football Team ahead for the November Training Camp in preparation of the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games at Bangkok, Thailand.
The Road to Gold Begins
Scheduled from November 23 to December 2, the camp also plays a key role in gearing up the Filipinas for their upcoming appearance in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup next March.
In the SEA Games tournament in Thailand, the Filipinas will be competing in a challenging group alongside defending champion Vietnam, silver medalist Myanmar, and regional contender Malaysia, with matches beginning on December 5.
PFF President John Anthony Gutierrez reiterated the organization’s commitment to supporting the national team’s ambitions.
“The team has shown consistency, maturity, and a fighting spirit that continues to inspire Filipino fans everywhere. This camp is an essential part of ensuring that the Filipinas enter the SEA Games and the Asian Cup with the best possible preparation,” Gutierrez said.
“We remain committed to giving this team the resources and stability it needs to compete at the highest level.”
Head coach Mark Torcaso stressed that this training period is crucial for both fine-tuning the squad and determining the final lineup for the SEA Games.
“This is a really exciting window for us as it’s our preparation window going into the SEA Games. We’ve got a nice big squad to select from to attend the SEA Games and we’ll use this camp as an opportunity to fine-tune that and pick the best available 23 for the SEA Games,” Torcaso said.
Torcaso also expressed optimism with the return of striker Sarina Bolden, who is back in the fold after recovering from injury.
“It’s also really great to have Sarina come back into camp after her absence with injury and we’ll work through her rehab and her processes to bring her back to play as soon as possible,” he noted.
“Unfortunately, she won’t be ready for the SEA Games but our goal is to have her ready for the Asian Cup.”
He further highlighted that the camp opens doors for several promising young players who have been limited by academic commitments in recent months.
“There’s also a number of young players that feature in this team that haven’t had much opportunity in the last few months because of unavailability due to university commitments and we look forward to seeing them with a really strong team available considering it’s outside of the FIFA window,” he said.
“We plan to go there and make the final games and bring home a medal. I’m really excited by this group and this team that we’re bringing and we’re looking forward to making the country proud.”
