The Philippine Women’s National Football team has revealed its 24-player lineup before playing an exhibition game versus Chinese Taipei on June 3.
3 New Faces to Represent the Philippines
There would be 3 fresh new faces under the guidance of Head Coach Mark Torcaso, and these are: Julianna Barker, Megan Murray, and Ava Villapando.
It is also worth noting that Ava came from the U17 program of the National Team.
The usual returnees like Hali Long, Sara Eggesvik, Jaclyn Sawicki, and sisters Olivia and Chandler McDaniel are also present for the latest camp. Though unfortunately, strikers Sarina Bolden and Quinley Quezada will again miss out.
Both Bolden and Quezada were also on the sidelines during the March 31 to April 8 window, as they have been placed under the injury report.
Katrina Guillou, another World Cup veteran, was also not called up.
Adversity Ahead of the 2026 Asian Cup Qualifiers
With the announcement of the PWNFT via their Facebook page, this exhibition game will be part of the preparation of the team ahead of their Asian Cup Qualifiers stint.
These 24 athletes would also undergo a training camp in Manila as they take on another friendly match, but this time it will be against Chinese Taipei.
It can be recalled that during the first week of April 2025, the PWNFT dominated their friendly games against the United Arab Emirates. The Philippines went 2-0 in their games against the UAE despite having a homecourt disadvantage.
Saudi Arabia will be the 1st game of PWNFT in the Asia Cup Qualifiers, which will be played on June 29, 2025.
