Defensively, team captain and libero Kath Arado tallied 26 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions, while Kim Fajardo orchestrated the offense with 18 excellent sets.
“Siguro ni-remind lang dun sa system na nira-run namin, na ‘yun nga, kailangan talaga maraming variety sa attacks. At the same time, mag-adjust kami dun sa ginagawa ng middles saka wings ni Akari,” said head coach Rald Ricafort.
“So maganda rin talaga laro nila Gretch [Soltones] nung start. Actually, lahat sila. Kaya, ‘yun lang, kailangan lang ng patience para mairaos hanggang sa endgame.”
Gretchel Soltones paced Akari with 16 points and 13 excellent digs. Ivy Lacsina added 13 points built on 10 attacks, 2 aces, and 1 block. Middle blockers Ced Domingo and Fifi Sharma combined for 21 points, accounting for half of the Chargers’ 10 blocks.
