The 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference continued on Tuesday with another triple-header at PhilSports Arena. And the three matches saw the season’s early leaders continue their superlative play. Here is a recap of the action:
Cignal Sweeps Galeries Despite Losing Key Players
Losing key players didn’t seem to slow the Cignal HD Spikers down in their 2025 debut as they trounced the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19, to move up to a share of first place in the standings with the Petro Gazz Angels.
Vanie Gandler and Dawn Catindig picked up the cudgels for Cignal and typified the team’s dominance. Gandler fired a team-high 17 points and Catindig recorded19 excellent digs as the HD Spikers needed just 91 minutes to upend the young Highrisers.
Rose Doria-Aquino, Jacqueline Acuña, and Ishie Lalongisip had 9 points apiece for Cignal, while Gel Cayuna registered 15 excellent sets. Ysa Jimenez and setter Julia Coronel paced the outgunned Highrisers with 8 markers apiece.

Creamline Dominates Capital1, Remains Unbeaten
Unbeaten and looking unbeatable. That’s how the Creamline Cool Smashers looked as they easily dispatched the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18, to stay unbeaten after five matches in the PVL’s opening tournament.
The Cool Smashers needed only 87 minutes to get the job done against Capital1, and they did it with their usual balanced attack. Jema Galanza led the way with 12 markers, followed by Bea de Leon’s 8 points built on 3 kill blocks. Michele Gumabao had 6, while Kyle Negrito recorded 14 excellent sets on top of an ace.
Former MVP Tots Carlos also returned from a two-game absence, giving the Cool Smashers a full arsenal of weapons. That talent was evident against Capital1 as Creamline dominated in attacks, blocks, and service aces, while committing fewer errors.
