Tuesday’s PVL All Filipino Conference double-header at the Smart Araneta Coliseum delivered the goods, as four of the league’s contenders mixed it up. Here is a recap of the games:
Farm Fresh Turns Back Zus Coffee for Back-to-Back Wins
Sometimes, all it takes is one win to jumpstart a team.
Fresh from their first win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference against the Akari Chargers, the Farm Fresh Foxies made sure to keep the momentum going, turning back the Zus Coffee Thunderbelles, 26-24, 13-25, 25-21, 25-19, for their second straight triumph.
Reigning PVL Player of the Week Trisha Tubu spearheaded the Foxies’ attack, finishing with 28 big points and dominating early and down the stretch that saw her seal the game with a kill. Alyssa Bertolano added 12 markers for Farm Fresh, who evened its record to 2-2. Thea Gagate’s 16 points led Zus Coffee, who dropped to 2-2 after its two-game winning streak was snapped.
Both Farm Fresh and Zus Coffee will return to action on December 12 at the PhilSports Arena, with the former taking on the Choco Mucho Titans and the latter facing off with the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Petro Gazz Sweeps Akari Behind Vintage Myla Pablo Showing
Bagyong Pablo is intensifying in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Myla Pablo sparked the Petro Gazz Angels on Thursday, delivering a vintage performance in their 28-26, 29-27, 25-18 sweep of the reeling Akari Chargers.
Pablo, nicknamed Bagyong Pablo, scored 15 points for the Angels to follow up her 11-point attack in Petro Gazz’s victory over Farm Fresh in Candon. Her contributions complemented Brooke van Sickle’s masterful 19-point performance as the Angels scraped by the chargers in the first two sets before dominating the deciding third.

The Chargers, who have now dropped three straight fall to 2-3 next take on the resurgent Chery Tiggo Crossovers. The Angels, who grabbed a share of second place in the standings at 3-1, will next face the PLDT High Speed Hitters. Both matches will take place on December 10 at the PhilSports Arena.
PVL All-Filipino Conference Goes to Cebu
After Candon in Ilocos Sur, the PVL All-Filipino Conference will next visit the Queen City of the South, Cebu, on December 7. The curtain-raiser will be a match between the Nxled Chameleons and Cignal HD Spikers. The nightcap will be between the Capital1 Solar Spikers and Galeries Tower Highrisers.
