PBA Philippine Cup action resumed with a flurry of games over the weekend. But after six games, the top team in Rebanse’s Weekly PBA Rankings continues to be the San Miguel Beermen. There’s a new No. 2, though, and it’s a well-deserved level-up.
Before everything else, let’s start by taking a look at the updated standings:

Now, here are Rebanse’s Weekly PBA Power Rankings:
San Miguel Beermen
The Beermen aren’t just the league’s hottest team. They’re probably the best, too, and they proved as much with a beatdown of rivals TNT. They’re peaking at the right time as well.
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
Time to give Yeng Guiao and his troops some much-deserved love. After all the injuries so far, they’ve continued to thrive and are actually finding different ways to win apart from running and gunning.
Converge FiberXers
The talent is undeniable—and so is the inconsistency. They followed up a big beatdown of the Magnolia Hotshots with a head-scratching loss to Rain or Shine.
Magnolia Hotshots
The Hotshots are in the same boat as Converge in some ways: lots of promise, but lots of room for improvement as well. Inconsistency remains an issue.
NLEX Road Warriors
NLEX plays hard and competes from the get-go, but the talent isn’t up to par with the contenders just yet. Overachieving thus far, but worth a look nonetheless.
TNT Tropang 5G
Back-to-back losses have the Tropa reeling, in part because they haven’t shown that trademark stingy defense in their last two games. But with that much talent, a course correction is inevitable.
Meralco Bolts
Offense remains a work in progress for the up-and-down Bolts. But the defense has continued to be stingy. The long break could supercharge Meralco.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel
Ginebra is officially in uncharted waters, in a tie with Meralco at 3–4 and just barely locking down the eighth seed. The offense is still up and down, and the defense continues to be inconsistent.
Phoenix Fuel Masters
Phoenix just can’t close out games yet, partly because of their relative youth—head coach included. But credit the Fuel Masters for always showing fight. Big win over Blackwater could be a start of something bigger.
Titan Ultra Giant Risers
A huge win against Terrafirma keeps Titan Ultra in playoff contention. And the winning formula seems to be: just give Calvin Abueva a chance to win.
Terrafirma Dyip
The Dyip are tough, gritty, and spirited. They’re also playing hard under coach Ronald Tubid. But lack of top-tier talent is hurting the team.
Blackwater Bossing
The Bossing have top-tier talent in Sedrick Barefield, Christian David, and Dalph Panopio. However, it’s starting to look like they need better coaching. The latest loss is Exhibit A of that.
