The Adamson University Soaring Falcons are currently in sixth place with a 2-6 record, closely followed by the Fighting Maroons with a 2-7 card. At the bottom of the standings are the Red Warriors, who are still winless in nine games.

Here are the other things you missed on yesterday’s game day of the UAAP Volleyball Tournament.

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws showed their maturity and consistency as they only recorded 18 errors in their 25-19, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18 victory against the University of the East Red Warriors on Wednesday, March 26. In comparison, the Red Warriors had 30 errors in that match.

Doula Ndongala led the highly-offensive Tamaraws with 14 points in nine attacks, four blocks, and an ace, while Zhydryx Saavedra and Lirick Mendoza contributed 13 points apiece. Mikko Espartero added 12 points.

For the Red Warriors, Isaiah Roca and Xjhann Camaymayan both had 15 points, while Raquim Aceron contributed 11 points.

After the game, Tamaraws head coach Eddieson Orcullo admitted that the games in the second round are getting tougher. He said, “‘Yung second round talaga, lahat ng teams pupukpok para makuha ‘yung match siyempre. ‘Yung third set namin medyo talagang malayo lang ang score kaya ang hirap habulin, but nakapag-cope up kami nung fourth set.”

With the win, the Tamaraws stay on top of the standings with a flawless 9-0 record, while the Red Warriors are still winless at the bottom with a 0-9 win-loss card.

The Far Eastern University will face the defending champions, the National University, on Sunday, March 30, at 11 am at the Araneta Coliseum. Earlier that day, the University of the East will try to get their first win against the University of the Philippines at 9 am.

68

The defending champions National University Bulldogs showed their offensive prowess as they recorded 68 attack points in their 23-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-23 win against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons on Wednesday, March 26.

Jade Disquitado led the defending champions with 22 points in 21 attacks, while Leo Aringo contributed 19 points, all in attacks. Buds Buddin contributed 17 points, while Obed Mukaba had 10 points in four blocks.

For the Fighting Maroons, Olayemi Raheem was the lone bright spot with 26 points, as Angelo Lipata and Daniel Nicolas had seven points apiece. Angelo Lagando, Tommy Castrodes, and Louise Aballe were limited to four points each.

Despite their victory, Bulldogs head coach Dante Alinsunurin noted that his team still hasn’t had a flawless game this season. Kung ano man maging challenge namin every game, at least nasusubukan kami.”

With the win, the Bulldogs stayed at the second spot with a 7-2 win-loss record, while the Fighting Maroons dropped to the seventh of the standings with a 2-7 card.

The University of the Philippines will face the still unbeaten Far Eastern University Tamaraws on Sunday, March 30, at 11 am at the Araneta Coliseum. Earlier that day, the University of the Philippines will try to bounce back against the winless University of the East Red Warriors.
