How the Tournament Works

The 48 teams will be divided into 12 groups of 4. Each team plays 3 matches in the group stage.

  • Points: Win = 3, Draw = 1, Loss = 0
  • The top 2 teams per group move on, plus the 8 best third-place teams, making 32 total for the knockout stage.

Knockout Stage

From the Round of 32, every match is single elimination.

  • If tied after 90 minutes, the game goes to 30 minutes of extra time.
  • If still tied, a penalty shootout decides the winner.
This continues until the champion is crowned in the Final.
