Here are the top performers on January 11 and the stats to highlight their impact:
BEST PLAYER OF THE DAY:
John Collins LAC PF 25 PTS | 4 STL | 4 BLK | 56.9 FPS (vs. DET)
It seems that Collins is finally hitting his stride with the Clippers after a subpar start to the season. Over his last six games, he has emerged as a consistent scoring force, posting at least 16 points in each outing and taking it a step further today with his best scoring and three-point shooting performance of the season. His defensive numbers have also trended upward, as he has recorded at least three blocks in each of his last four games.
BREAKOUT:
Ayo Dosunmu CHI SG 20 PTS | 8 AST | 4 STL | 45.8 FPS (vs. DAL)
Dosunmu posted his best steals performance of the season while continuing to provide steady value on offense. He now has eight 20-point games on the year, including doing it in each of his last two games while continuing to excel as both a shooter and playmaker, averaging 2.7 made threes and 5.5 assists over his last six outings.
SLEEPER:
Keldon Johnson SAS SF 18 PTS | 10 REB | 1 STL | 32.5 FPS (vs. BOS)
The veteran forward delivered again on offense, posting his tenth 18-point outing of the year along with his fifth 10-rebound effort. He’s now averaging 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting at 57% this season.
ELITE ASSET:
Kawhi Leonard LAC SF 26 PTS | 8 REB | 4 STL | 46.1 FPS (vs. DET)
The superstar has been dealing with an ankle injury lately, but it hasn’t slowed him down, as he delivered another elite two-way performance to lead a come-from-behind win. Over his last ten games, he’s been explosive, averaging 32.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.7 steals on 53/41/89 shooting splits.
PLAYER TO WATCH:
Ausar Thompson DET SF 6 AST | 2 STL | 3 BLK | 32.6 FPS (vs. LAC)
Despite scoring fewer than 10 points for the fifth time in his last eight games. Thompson remains impactful with contributions across the board and continues to stand out defensively, averaging 2.9 stocks in that span, including racking up 10 stocks over his last two games.
CATEGORY SPECIALIST:
Miles Bridges CHA SF 15 PTS | 7 REB | 5 AST | 30.9 FPS (vs. UTA)
The forward turned in another useful all-around line, reaching the 15-point mark for the fourth time in five games along with his fourth-consecutive 4-assist game. He’s been a very reliable contributor this season, averaging 19.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
STREAMER:
Javonte Green DET SG 7 REB | 4 STL | 3 BLK | 33.4 FPS (vs. LAC)
The Pistons continue to miss multiple key players due to injuries, allowing Green to play a much bigger role in recent games. He’s responded well, scoring in double figures in his previous four games while adding positive value in different areas. But he’s been an even bigger threat on defense, posting a season-high in blocks today and totaling 11 steals over his last three games.
FLOPPER:
Keyonte George UTA PG 4 PTS | 2 REB | 5 AST | 14.9 FPS (vs. CHA)
George had one of his worst games of the season, struggling badly from the field and finishing with 10 points or fewer for just the third time this year while committing at least four turnovers for the fourth time in five games.
