The New York Knicks (4-4) dominated the Milwaukee Bucks (2-7) from start to finish, cruising to an easy 116-94 win on November 9.
Towns continue to settle into the Knicks system, delivering his second consecutive 30-point performance. He was a major force on the court, finishing with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Og Anunoby stuffed the box score with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks while Josh Hart is on a triple-double watch with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Giannis Antetokounmpo spearheaded the Bucks’ effort with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Damian Lillard, after dropping 34 or more in his last three games, was held to 19 points, shooting a tough 6-for-15 from the field and missing all three of his three-point attempts.
Towns’ Hot Hand Led Knicks to the Win
The Knicks gained some early separation with a powerful 17-6 spurt. Towns put the fuel to their offensive fire, hitting 3 threes in that stretch. The teams traded baskets for a while but Antetokounmpo took over in the final two minutes, scoring six points to trim the gap to (25-32).
Lillard tried to keep the Bucks afloat, but the Knicks unleashed a powerful 11-1 run to build their largest lead of the game at (57-38). Towns poured in 14 points in the quarter, continuing his hot start.
The Bucks clawed their way back into the game, but the Knicks had an answer for every challenge. New York delivered a furious flurry late in the third quarter, but Green countered with a clutch three-pointer, briefly stemming the tide and cutting the deficit to 19. However, the Knicks weren’t finished. They opened the fourth quarter with a devastating 12-2 run, sucking the life out of the Bucks and putting the game firmly out of reach.
