Here are the top performers on February 6 and the stats to highlight their impact.
BEST PLAYER OF THE DAY:
Jalen Johnson ATL 22 PTS | 16 REB | 15 AST | 65.7 FPS (vs. UTA)
The first-time All-Star continued to play at an elite level, finishing with his 34th double-double and his third straight triple-double. This performance was also his 10th triple-double of the season, making him just the second player in the league to achieve the feat.
BREAKOUT:
Pat Spencer GSW PG 20 PTS | 6 3PM | 6 REB | 35.2 FPS (vs. PHX)
With Curry sidelined and Podziemski struggling, Spencer has entered the rotation in their last two games and excelled. He should continue to be an impactful contributor as long as the minutes are there.
SLEEPER:
Daniel Gafford DAL C 16 PTS | 10 REB | 4 BLK | 52.0 FPS (vs. SAS)
Despite dealing with an ankle issue all season, the veteran center has remained an elite defensive force, recording his seventh double-digit rebounding game while ranking inside the top 30 in total blocks this season.
ELITE ASSET:
Victor Wembanyama SAS C 29 PTS | 11 REB | 3 BLK | 63.2 FPS (vs. DAL)
The Alien stuffed the stat sheet once again, recording his third straight 20-point game while averaging 11 rebounds and five stocks this month. He also snapped out of his shooting slump, drilling five threes after going just 3-for-22 in recent games.
CATEGORY SPECIALIST:
Duncan Robinson DET SF 21 PTS | 1 REB | 2 AST | 25.2 FPS (vs. WAS)
Robinson has been on a tear lately, posting 20 points and six threes in each of his last two games. Though he’s been inconsistent at times this season, he remains a legitimate offensive threat and a vital piece of the Pistons’ rotation.
PLAYER TO WATCH:
Will Riley WAS SF 20 PTS | 6 REB | 5 AST | 40.7 FPS (vs. DET)
The rookie has been highly productive over his last four games, averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals and close to 3 triples. With the team likely to miss the playoffs, he should be poised for a much bigger role throughout the remainder of the season.
STREAMER:
Jock Landale ATL C 26 PTS | 11 REB | 4 BLK | 56.7 FPS (vs. UTA)
The former Grizzlies center made his presence felt immediately, erupting for a career-best in points and three-pointers along with his eighth double-digit rebounding game of the season. He should continue to see similar production while Okongwu is sidelined.
FLOPPER:
Michael Porter Jr BKN SF 9 PTS | 2 REB | 2 AST | 15.4 FPS (vs. ORL)
MPJ is in the midst of a stellar year, averaging a career-best 25.5 points per game, which ranks 21st in the league. However, he had a disappointing performance today, converting just 2 of 13 shots from the field and tying his season low.
