Filipina tennis player Tennielle “Tenny” Madis will next be playing for the University of Hawaii Women’s Tennis team.
“Please welcome Tennielle Madis from N’Lang, North Cotabato, Philippines to the Rainbow Wahine ‘Ohana!” the University of Hawaii Women’s Tennis team announced in their official Instagram account. “She will be joining the ‘Bows in the Fall of 2026!”
Madis is naturally excited at the opportunity.
“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to be part of Hawaii women’s tennis. I’m deeply grateful as I begin this exciting new chapter of my life,” Madis said in her Instagram story.

Tenny Madis Builds Momentum
The 18-year-old first announced her name to the tennis scene at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, where she helped the Philippine team win a bronze medal. Then, in January, the pride of N’Lang, North Cotabato made it to the main draw of the WTA 125 Philippine Women’s Open as a wild card.
Tenny Madis, however, lost in the first round in both singles and in doubles to cut short her WTA debut. But she vowed to learn from her losses and get better. Playing for the University of Hawaii’s women’s tennis team could certainly help her in that aspect.
Chasing That Tennis Dream
Back in January, Madis shared to the media that one of her tennis dreams is to compete in different WTA tournaments and other women’s open tennis.
She already got a taste of WTA action just recently, and while the results didn’t go her way, it was a dream fulfilled nonetheless. Now, Tenny Madis will be looking to level up as she continues to chase her tennis aspirations.
That chase will continue later this year. And it will start with the University of Hawaii.
