With still no repeat champions for eight years running now and luxury tax implications a very real thing, expect quite a few transactions this NBA offseason. Teams with title aspirations would likely try to make that one final move to get over the hump, while franchises stuck in the middle tiers will probably swing for the fences.

- Collin Gillespie announces his intent to re-sign with the Phoenix Suns on a four-year, $48 million deal.
June 23, 2026
- CJ McCollum agrees to a one-year, $21 million extension to stay with the Atlanta Hawks.
- Jordan Goodwin and the Phoenix Suns are finalizing a three-year, $19 million contract.
- Trae Young agrees to four-year, $212 million extension with the Washington WIzards.
- Oklahoma City Thunder agree to trade Aaron Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for two second-round picks (2030 and 2032).
- Dallas Mavericks are finalizing a deal to hire Michigan Wolverines coach Dustin Mays as head coach, replacing Jason Kidd.
- Ayo Dosunmu agrees to five-year, $112 million extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
- Timberwolves, Brooklyn Nets, and Chicago Bulls agree on three team deal: Wolves to receive Nets’ No. 33 pick and Bulls’ Mo Gueye; Nets to receive Julius Randle from Wolves; Bulls to receive Nic Claxton from Nets.
- The Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat agree to blockbuster trade: Heat to receive Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from the Bucks; Milwaukee to receive Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks (including No. 13), one pick swap and one second-rounder.
June 24, 2026
- The Portland Trailblazers have hired Timberwolves lead assistant Micah Nori as head coach.
- The Memphis Grizzlies traded No. 16 pick Bennett Stirtz to the Thunder for the No. 17 pick and two second-round picks. Memphis then traded the No. 17 pick to the Detroit Pistons for the No. 21 pick an three second-round picks. In all, the Grizzlies moved back five spots in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft (from 16 to 21) and got five second round picks in the future.
- The San Antonio Spurs trade No. 26 overall pick (Tarris Reed Jr.) to the Denver Nuggets for the No. 35 overall pick and two future second- round picks.
- The Cleveland Cavaliers traded their No. 29 pick to the Sacramento Kings for No. 34 and a future second-round pick. Sacramento used he pick to select Alex Karaban of the University of Connecticut.
- The New York Knicks swapped the No. 24 pick to the Los Angeles Lakers’ No. 25 pick and cash considerations. The Lakers selected Cameron Carr of the University of Tennessee with that pick. New York used the pick to select Sergio De Larrea of Spain.
- New York traded No. 25 pick Sergio De Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks for No. 30 Koa Peat of the University of Arizona and two second-round picks. The Knicks then traded Peat to the Phoenix Suns for three second-rounders and cash.
- Phoenix sent its three second-rounders, including No. 47 of the 2026 NBA Draft to New York. In all, New York got five second-round picks and cash.

- Austin Reaves, Lakers agree on four-year, $185 million extension.
- Detroit Pistons trade center Isaiah Stewart to the Grizzlies for three future second-round picks.
- Cavs trade No. 29 pick to Kings for No. 34 and a future second-rounder. Kings selected UConn’s Alex Karaban with the 29th pick.
- Orlando Magic trade No. 46 pick Felix Okpara to Wizards for picks Nos. 51 (Izaiyah Nelson, USF) and 60 (Malique Lewis, Trinidad & Tobago).
- Atlanta Hawks trade No. 57 pick (Narcisse Ngoy, France) plus cash to Los Angeles Clippers for No. 52 pick (Henri Veesaar, North Carolina).
- New York Knicks trade No. 53 pick Ugonna Onyenso to Pistons for cash.
- Houston Rockets No. 55 pick (Nick Martinelli, Northwestern) to the Clippers for cash.
- Lakers send No. 56 pick (Vsevelod Ishchenko, Russia) to Mavericks for cash.
- Undrafted Vanderbilt forward AK Okereke has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Lakers.
- Undrafted Miami guard Tre Donaldson has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Heat.
- Undrafted Creighton guard Josh Dix has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Thunder.
- Undrafted Arizona forward Tobe Awaka has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Bulls.

- Al Horford declines $6 million player option with the Golden State Warriors. Announces intention to to sign a two-year, $14 million contract instead.
- Coby White agrees to three-year, $74 million deal with the Hornets.

- Jose Alvarado declines $4.5 million player option with Knicks but will sign a new three-year, $14-plus million deal to return.
