The PLDT High Speed Hitters just beat the defending champions, the Creamline Cool Smashers, but Savi Davison isn’t letting her team get comfortable.

After losing their first two games at the 2026–27 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series, the High Speed Hitters have won three straight against the Capital1 Solar Spikers, ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, and Creamline. Davison knows the road to the semifinals is still long and that the schedule won’t get easier.

“I mean, we still have a couple of tough teams to play. We have Choco Mucho [Flying Titans], we have Farm Fresh [Foxies], we have Galeries [Tower Highrisers], and I think we have one more. But, I mean, just looking forward, I think we have to focus more on our side of the court,” said Davison.

“Regardless of who we play, I know that if we control the pace, if we play the way that we can, regardless of who’s on the other side of the net, I feel like we’re going to give them a hard time. So, you know, looking forward, after this win, of course, it gives us momentum.”

Davison, PLDT Like Showing Up Against Creamline

The former league MVP led PLDT with 22 points, 20 of them on attacks, plus 19 excellent receptions and 8 excellent digs. PLDT won 25-19, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Davison said Creamline always seems to bring out PLDT’s best. Because of the Cool Smashers’ history, she added, the High Speed Hitters can play without pressure.

“I feel like we play to our potential when we play Creamline. I don’t want to say they provoke something in us. I just feel like we can always expect them to play their best. So, out of respect, we need to play our best,” she said.

“I mean, with any other team, you have to play your best in order to respect that team. But knowing Creamline, knowing their history, their dynasty, I feel like there’s kind of no pressure on us when we play them. Because if they beat us, they deserve it. If we beat them, we deserve it,” she added.

No Room for Error Anymore

Still, the 27-year-old outside hitter knows the 0-2 start left PLDT with little room for error. She wants the team to approach every match the same way, no matter what happened in the last one.

“But, you know, I like to think that we start from ground zero after every match. So, we’ll just see for the next one how we train and how we prepare.”

PLDT will next face tFarm Fresh on Tuesday, November 10, at 1:00 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
