The Boston Celtics (10-3) overcame another slow start to bury the Brooklyn Nets (5-7) 139-114 on November 14.

The Celtics’ superb offense was on full display, dropping their season-best in points while shooting 53.8% from the field and 47.8% from three.

Jayson Tatum delivered a commanding performance, dropping 36 points while grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists. Jaylen Brown complemented him perfectly with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Payton Pritchard contributed a reliable presence off the bench with 23 points.

Ziaire Williams led the way for the Nets with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Dennis Schröder scored 16, and Cam Thomas added 17. Jalen Wilson was a bright spot, posting 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Celtics’ Firepower Overwhelms the Nets

The Celtics continued their trend of slow starts, falling behind by double digits early. They shot a dismal 2-of-10 from the field (1-of-7 from three) and coughed up 3 turnovers in the first 5 minutes. The Nets capitalized on the Celtics’ sluggish play, jumping out to a (19-8) lead thanks to 9 quick points from Williams. However, a late burst from Tatum narrowed the gap to just 2. The Nets then unleashed a 9-2 run to regain control in the second, but Boston responded in time, tightening the margin. The teams traded blows for a while, but the Celtics ultimately surged ahead, with a 5-point lead. The Jays took charge, combining for a dominant 35 points.

The second half erupted with a barrage of three-pointers from both sides, but the Celtics emerged from the firestorm with an (80-68) lead. Their fiery shooting endured, pushing the advantage to 17 points. Wilson ignited a late push for the Nets but Boston quickly doused the flames. The Celtics poured it on in the fourth quarter to build a 30-point lead and put the game out of reach.
