Here are the players who made the biggest impact on April 22 and the stats to prove it.
TOP PERFORMERS OF THE DAY:
Robert Upshaw III BWB C 35 PTS | 17 REB | 5 AST | 66.9 FPS
Upshaw set the tone early with an explosive 26-point first half and kept it going, finishing with his third consecutive 35-point performance of the tournament. His outside shooting particularly stood out today, hitting 4-of-5 from the four-point line.
Bennie Francois Boatwright SMB C 38 PTS | 13 REB | 6 AST | 66.6 FPS
Boatwright led all players today behind a stellar shooting performance from two. But it was a completely different story from long range, where he shot just 3-for-10 from three and an even worse 1-for-6 from the four-point line.
Bol Manute Bol TNT C 32 PTS | 16 REB | 3 BLK | 62.7 FPS
Bol dominated again from two, shooting 12-for-17, but his outside shooting remained cold, finishing 0-for-7 today. Still, his overall performance was superb, and he remains the second-best scorer in the league, averaging 38.1 points while also leading all players with 4.0 blocks per game.
June Mar Fajardo SMB C 28 PTS | 13 REB | 4 STL | 60.1 FPS
The nine-time MVP was a force inside the paint, setting a new conference-high in scoring on a highly efficient 13-for-15 shooting performance. Defensively, he has been just as impressive, finishing with double digit rebounds in eight out of nine games this conference.
Juan Gerardo Gomez de Liano CON PG 16 PTS | 7 REB | 7 AST | 39.9 FPS
Juan continues to deliver at a high level, finishing with a signature well-rounded performance today. He was excellent in both rebounding and playmaking while also recording a conference-high 3 steals. But he’s much steadier on offense, averaging 16.8 points on 50% shooting from two in his last five games.
Marcio Lassiter SMB SG 15 PTS | 4 AST | 3 STL | 35.2 FPS
The swingman continues to produce offensively, averaging 16.5 points over his last four games. He also made an impact in other areas today, turning in his best all-around performance of the tournament. With key players struggling, the veteran has stepped into a much bigger role lately and the team will need him to keep producing at this level going forward.
Justin Arana CON C 21 PTS | 10 REB | 1 AST | 34.5 FPS
The big man was really locked in today, finishing as the team’s leading scorer and rebounder. The 20-point performance was also his best this conference while his rebound total was the highest in his last five games.
Brandon Arnell Ganuelas-Rosser TNT C 14 PTS | 5 REB | 3 AST | 29.5 FPS
BGR’s production has been mild in recent games, but he provided an effective and well-rounded performance today. Offensively, he matched his conference-high in points while shooting 6-for-7 from two. With the team struggling, they will need BGR to bring more to the table in the games ahead.
Bryan Jason Andrade BWB SG 13 PTS | 7 REB | 1 BLK | 25.4 FPS
The former 10th overall pick stepped up in a big way today, finishing with a conference-best in scoring. He did most of his damage inside the arc where he shot 4-for-7 and also grabbed a game-high five offensive rebounds.
Christian David BWB SF 15 PTS | 3 REB | 3 AST | 25.1 FPS
This has been a tough conference for David, who scored seven points or fewer in five of his past six games. But he came through today, knocking down three three-pointers and shooting 60% from the field for his best scoring performance of the tournament.
Jordan Timothy Heading TNT SG 13 PTS | 6 REB | 1 STL | 21.7 FPS
While he finished with a decent overall stat line, the guard was far from efficient. He shot just 1-for-5 from deep and also committed a team-high in turnovers. Known for his outside shooting, Heading hasn’t lived up to that reputation in this conference, going 6-for-21 across six games.
Justine Baltazar CON PF 3 PTS | 9 REB | 1 STL | 19.8 FPS
Baltazar had a strong start to the conference, averaging 15.6 points over his first five games. However, he has hit a wall recently, averaging just 6.75 points over his last four outings. While he has remained productive on the boards with an average of 8.6 rebounds, the team will certainly need more from him offensively if they want to make it to the playoffs.
Roger Ray Pogoy TNT SG 12 PTS | 5 REB | 1 AST | 19.5 FPS
For the first time this conference, Pogoy reached double digits in scoring. The veteran guard was effective from two-point area, converting 5-of-9 attempts. However, his three-point shooting continues to be a problem, as he missed all four of his shots today and is now 4-for-22 over his last six games.
Cyrus John Austria BWB SG 11 PTS | 6 REB | 2 AST | 19.2 FPS
The rookie guard introduced himself to the league by providing a solid impact on both ends of the floor. He also delivered key contributions in the fourth quarter to help the team steal the win, proving that he can be a valuable asset to the team moving forward.
Paul Christian Zamar BWB SG 12 PTS | 2 AST | 1 STL | 18.0 FPS
The veteran guard was coming off a solid scoring performance against Phoenix and kept it going today, finishing with back-to-back 10-point outings. He was effective from long range, knocking down two threes and a four-pointer. After missing the early weeks of the conference, this performance should help him build some momentum going into their next games.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:
Jericho Xavier Cruz SMB SG 1 REB | 1 STL | 1 TO | 3.5 FPS
Cruz has been playing well in the conference, averaging 11.0 points in his last three games. But he struggled mightily today, missing all five of his attempts from the floor while barely making an impact in other areas.
