Here are the players who made the biggest impact on April 28 and the stats to prove it.

TOP PERFORMERS OF THE DAY:

Jenning Leung MBK SG 30 PTS  | 8 REB | 8 AST | 55.6 FPS

The Knights’ wing has had highs and lows in recent games. Against Titan, he was on fire from long range and finished with a conference-best scoring performance. However, it was the exact opposite against TNT, where he shot just 1-for-10 in a conference-worst outing. But he got his groove back today, recording another 30-point game on solid efficiency while also putting up strong numbers in other areas.

Marvin Jones MER C 26 PTS | 13 REB | 3 STL | 55.1 FPS

Offensively, Jones has reached another level over his last four games, averaging 27.5 points. He continued that trend today, going 8-for-10 on two-pointers to lead both teams in scoring. He was equally impressive on the boards, notching his seventh consecutive double-digit rebounding performance.

Ramon Cao MBK C 29 PTS | 10 REB  | 3 AST | 42.5 FPS

The Knights’ center has been really productive lately, averaging nearly 15 points and 8 rebounds over his last five games. But he took it to another level today, going 11-of-15 from two-point range and 7-of-11 from the line to record a new conference-high in scoring and his third 10-rebound performance.

June Mar Fajardo SMB C 19 PTS | 17 REB | 1 STL | 36.4 FPS

The Beermen needed a win today to solidify their spot in the playoffs, and the nine-time MVP took care of business impressively, finishing with team-highs in both points and rebounds. Despite the presence of imports, JMF has continued to dominate, notching his eighth double-double of the tournament.

Bryan Jayson Andrade BWB SG 12 PTS | 5 AST | 3 STL | 36.3 FPS

Recently, Andrade has earned a much larger role in the rotation and has made the most of it, averaging 10.3 points over their last four outings. Today, he also added strong contributions in other areas for his best game of the tournament.

Christian David BWB SF 21 PTS | 7 REB | 1 STL | 32.4 FPS

The forward came up huge on the scoring end, recording a team-high and conference-high performance. It took him a while to find his rhythm offensively, but it paid off as he’s now averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds over the last three games.

Bennie Francois Boatwright SMB C 16 PTS | 11 REB | 4 AST | 32.2 FPS

This was far from the level that we’re used to seeing from Boatwright. He really struggled to find his rhythm offensively, finishing 5-for-20 from the field, including 0-for-7 from the arc, while also shooting just 6-of-10 from the line.

Moala Tautuaa SMB PF 12 PTS | 8 REB | 2 STL | 31.1 FPS

For most of the conference, the backup big man has provided only modest production. But he stepped it up today, making contributions across the board. He also stood out on offense, finishing a perfect 5-for-5 from the field while ending up as the team’s third leading rebounder.

Crispin John Cansino MER SF 12 PTS | 5 REB | 4 STL | 29.0 FPS

It was another productive game for Cansino, though his struggles were undeniable. He never found his rhythm offensively, going 4-for-20 from the field, including a dismal 0-for-5 shooting from four. He also led the team in turnovers, finishing with four.

Christopher Ross SMB PG 9 PTS  | 5 REB | 3 STL | 28.0 FPS

This was an excellent performance for the veteran guard, who finished with solid contributions in every statistical category. He stood out on both ends of the floor, putting up an efficient scoring performance while also recording a team-high in steals.

Christopher Elijah Newsome MER SG 18 PTS  | 5 REB | 3 AST | 27.5 FPS

Newsome had a team-high four turnovers, but he made up for it with contributions in multiple areas. He also continues to trend upward offensively, coming close to the 20-point mark for the second consecutive game after struggling over the previous few weeks.

Celedonio Trollano SMB SF 16 PTS | 3 REB | 1 STL | 24.1 FPS

Trollano returned to the line-up today after missing their last two games with a back problem. While he made only a modest overall impact, he was still impressive offensively. Including the last conference, this was the 14th time that he scored at least 15 points.

Bradwyn Guinto BWB C 8 PTS | 9 REB | 1 AST | 20.3 FPS

The big man was back in the rotation today after being sidelined in their past four games. He made the most out of it, shooting at a high percentage on two-pointers while also finishing as the team’s leading rebounder.

Jason Alexander Brickman MER PG 4 PTS | 5 AST  | 2 STL | 19.9 FPS

Throughout the conference, it has either been a solid double-digit outing or a lackluster offensive performance for the rookie. Unfortunately, it was the latter today, as he went just 2-for-10 from the field, including missing all six of his attempts from downtown.

Clifford Marion Hodge MER PF 6 PTS | 6 REB | 1 TO | 12.2 FPS

Despite being a big part of the rotation, Hodge has underwhelmed, scoring two points or fewer in six of his last seven outings. There wasn’t much improvement today, though he still made an impact in the paint, finishing as the team’s second-leading rebounder.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:

Jaymar Perez SMB SG 14 PTS | 1 AST | 1 STL | 16.5 FPS

Recently, Perez has been largely inconsistent on offense, and he followed that trend today, finishing well below his conference average. Overall, however, it was even worse, as he made very little impact across other categories. The only good thing is that he doesn’t have many of these performances.
