In my previous article, From Casual Fan to Data Enthusiast: My Fantasy Basketball Journey, I explored how Fantasy Basketball transforms the basketball fan experience. Many readers were intrigued but unsure how to begin. Today, let’s dive directly into the practical steps of joining your first Daily Fantasy game, which offers a lower entry barrier for newcomers.

Registration Process:

  1. Enter the Daily Fantasy platform
  2. Fill in your account and password as per system requirements
  3. Complete the KYC verification steps – a detailed guide will follow in the next article

Game Interface Navigation: The platform contains four core menus

  1. Home: List of available competitions
  2. My Games: Displays completed and upcoming matches
  1. Result: Shows all match results, including actual scores, player performances, and winning teams
  2. Me: Personal information center, including
    • Wallet Balance – Coin and Ruby status
    • Career Stats across different sports
    • Customer support and other settings

Choosing Your First Match:

  1. Select a match in the Home section
  2. Explore different competition pools. Recommended to start with Ruby matches.
    • Coin requires cash top-up
    • Ruby can be obtained through daily login tasks
  3. In the player selection interface:
    • Build a team of 8 players across different positions
    • Each position requires at least one player
    • Use 100 Credits strategically – think of it as your player recruitment budget
    • Tip: Click on each player to view their recent match data and injury status
  4. Assign “C” and “VC” to your team, which will give you additional pt bonuses
  5. Confirm your team and enter the competition pool

Three Key Reminders for First-Timers:

  1. Start with Ruby matches to learn the rules, don’t rush to invest real money
  2. Pay attention to the latest injury updates and match conditions when selecting players
  3. Don’t just select star players – balance your budget and players’ potential performance
