Alex Eala is scheduled to compete in her final WTA tournament of the season at the Hong Kong Open, which runs from November 2 to 8. She’ll get her campaign started against a familiar opponent, Alycia Parks, in her opening-round assignment.
A Trilogy for Alex Eala and Alycia Parks
Soon to be officially ranked world No. 18, Alex Eala has been awarded the second seed at the Hong Kong Open.
The 21-year-old Filipina holds an even head-to-head record against her American opponent. Back in January, the 25-year-old Parks gained the upper hand after a three-set battle in the first round of the Australian Open.
However, during the Canadian Open in August, the Rafa Nadal Academy graduate got her revenge with a grueling three-set encounter in the Round of 32.
With the trilogy set to take place on Nov. 3, anticipation is building as fans look forward to another exciting opening-round clash that could once again go the distance.
One Last Hurrah for the Filipina for 2026?
After capturing the Mubadala Citi DC Open championship in August, many avid Philippine tennis fans are eager to see Eala claim another title before the year comes to a close.
Coming off a semifinal exit at the Toray Pan Pacific Open, there is still some optimism that the two-time WTA champion could capture one last trophy before wrapping up her 2026 season.
