Pick’em Football Cheat Sheet: What GLS, SOT, G+A and More Mean

Laki Daily has introduced Pick’em, a quick prediction game available for supported sports like basketball and football. With NBA and PBA action currently off the board, football is a good place to start, especially with the World Cup giving fans more ways to follow the game.

The rules of Pick’em are simple. The tricky part is learning the football stat codes. GLS, SOT, G+A, and SV may look like random letters at first, but once you know what they mean, the game becomes much easier to follow.

That is where this beginner-friendly cheat sheet comes in. Pick’em can make watching football more interactive, because every shot, save, pass, or card can suddenly become part of the experience.

What Is Pick’em?

Pick’em is simple: choose a match, select a player stat, then predict whether that number will go Higher or Lower before the market closes.

For example, if a player’s Shots on Target is set at 1.5, choose Higher if you think he will record 2 or more shots on target. Choose Lower if you think he will finish with 1 or none.

Football Pick’em Codes Beginners Should Know

Think of these codes as the Pick’em language. Once you understand the basic ones, the game becomes much easier to read.

GLS — Player Goals
This means the total goals scored by a player. Own goals are not included.

G+A — Goals + Assists
This combines a player’s goals and assists. It is useful for attacking players who can either score or create chances for teammates.

SH — Player Shots
This counts total shots taken, whether they are on target, off target, or blocked.

SOT — Shots On Target
These are shots that hit the target frame. Goals and goalkeeper saves are included.

SV — Player Saves
This is for goalkeepers. It counts how many shots they save during the match.

PATT — Player Passing Attempts
This counts a player’s total passing attempts, including incomplete passes. It can be useful for midfielders, defenders, or players from teams that spend a lot of time on the ball.

Beginner Tip: Start With Simple Stats

New players may want to begin with stats that are easy to watch during a match. For forwards and wingers, GLS, G+A, SH, and SOT are good starting points. For goalkeepers, SV is simple to follow. For midfielders or defenders, PATT can be easier to understand than more advanced defensive stats.

Do not only pick based on star power. Check the player’s role, expected minutes, opponent, and team style before locking in.

Once the codes make sense, Pick’em becomes easier to follow — and football becomes more fun to watch. Every small moment can give fans another reason to stay engaged until the final whistle.
