It took a few weeks, but there is finally a new no. 1 in the Rebanse Weekly Rankings. And, perhaps surprisingly, three of the top four spots come from the Eastern Conference, which is supposedly the weaker conference.
Take a look at the Rebanse NBA Weekly Rankings for November 25 thru December 1:
1. Boston Celtics (17-3)
Too much firepower, too good at the moment.
2. Oklahoma City Thunder (15-4)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander keying a balanced team effort.
3. Cleveland Cavaliers (17-3)
Two losses to the Hawks give Cavs a harsh reality check.
4. Orlando Magic (14-7)
Defense making magic for the Magic.
5. Houston Rockets (14-6)
Rockets are looking primed for liftoff with a precocious youth brigade.
6. Memphis Grizzlies (13-7)
Return of Ja Morent propelling the Grizz.
7. Dallas Mavericks (12-8)
Balanced attack without Luka Doncic getting it done for the Mavs.
8. Milwaukee Bucks (10-9)
Can’t keep a good team down for long.
9. Denver Nuggets (10-7)
Trudging along, finding ways to win.
10. Atlanta Hawks (10-11)
Two victories over league-leading Cavs show Hawks’ potential.
11. Los Angeles Clippers (12-9)
Clippers finding ways to win even without Norman Powell.
12. Los Angeles Lakers (11-8)
Defense remains suspect, LeBron James looking 39 finally.
13. Golden State Warriors (12-7)
Trouble brewing at The Bay, if we’re being honest.
14. San Antonio Spurs (10-9)
Spurs’ young guns doing great guns early on.
15. New York Knicks (11-8)
Knicks looking mid so far this season.
16. Phoenix Suns (11-8)
Slowly getting healthy but far from peak form.
17. Miami Heat (9-8)
Heat still going hot and cold; can’t build any momentum.
18. Minnesota Timberwolves (9-10)
Anthony Edwards is pissed off at getting booed at home.
19. Sacramento Kings (9-11)
Nothing kingly about the Kings, just inconsistency.
20. Portland Trailblazers (8-12)
They play hard and compete every game.
21. Detroit Pistons (9-13)
Young and competitive, Pistons just need to be more consistent.
22. Brooklyn Nets (9-11)
Explosive Cam Thomas-Dennis Schroder backcourt gives Nets a chance every game.
23. Indiana Pacers (9-11)
Still so-so, nothing to be excited about.
24. Chicago Bulls (8-13)
Ditto.
25. Toronto Raptors (5-15)
Just a lot of mid guys for a mid-team.
26. Charlotte Hornets (6-14)
LaMelo Ball’s injury comes at a bad time for the skidding Hornets.
27. Utah Jazz (4-15)
Young Core competing hard, but can’t quite put wins on the board.
28. Philadelphia 76ers (4-14)
Clock now ticking on injury-riddled Sixers.
28. New Orleans Pelicans (4-16)
Walking wounded and losing.
30. Washington Wizards (2-16)
No-win November doesn’t exactly inspire hope.
