The Nxled Chameleons returned to the win column with a commanding 25-17, 25-23, 25-18 victory over the Capital1 Solar Spikers in the 2026 PVL On Tour on Saturday at the CHAVIT Coliseum.

The straight-set win improved the Chameleons’ record to 1-1 after dropping their tournament opener. Nxled also pocketed the ₱100,000 incentive awarded to winning teams in the preseason tournament.

Myla Pablo led the Chameleons with 17 points on 12 attacks, 4 blocks, and 1 ace, while Jonah Sabete-Escamillan added 13 points built on 9 attacks, 2 blocks, and 2 aces.

Setter Gel Cayuna steered the offense with 17 excellent sets, while MJ Phillips and Jovelyn Fernandez chipped in 7 and 6 points, respectively.

“To be honest, I think that we really enjoyed playing today. It was super fun. I’m really happy that everybody had the possibility to show that all of my players are super good. Especially the defense has been super nice, and I think the crowd also enjoyed seeing us fight that hard on defense,” said Nxled head coach Ettore Guidetti.

Nxled broke the match open late in the third set after holding a slim 18-17 advantage. Sabete-Escamillan and Pablo fueled a decisive 6-1 run to bring the Chameleons to match point before EJ Cariño capped the victory with a service ace.

The Chameleons also showed their composure in the second set, overcoming 12 unforced errors before Sabete-Escamillan delivered the set-clinching point for a 25-23 win and a two-set cushion.

Rookie libero Irah Jaboneta, the fifth overall pick in the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft, impressed in limited action with 9 excellent digs while sharing defensive duties with veteran Bang Pineda.
