End of the Road: Team Liquid Philippines Falls to Entity 7, Exits the EWC MSC Winless

In what is probably the biggest upset of the tournament, the reigning MSC champions—Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH)—were knocked out of the MLBB Mid-Season Cup on July 25 in Paris.

Peruvian representatives Entity 7 thoroughly dismantled Team Liquid PH in the lower bracket quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory—marking the second straight sweep TLPH suffered after also falling to Aurora Gaming Türkiye in the same fashion. The winless exit makes TLPH the first Philippine representative in MSC history to miss the knockout stage.

Team Liquid PH was outclassed right from the draft in Game 1, forced off their usual picks while Entity 7 secured a far superior composition. That draft disadvantage showed early, with the Peruvians securing the first two Turtles.

Team Liquid Fights Back, Falls Short

Still, the Cavalry fought back, keeping pace through three key eliminations at the five-minute mark. However, at the seven-minute mark, Entity 7 completely picked Liquid apart—stealing another Turtle and taking down four TLPH members. In the final Lord clash, Entity 7 once again outmaneuvered Liquid, led by Akashi’s Freya, who secured a decisive triple kill to take Game 1 of the do-or-die showdown.

Game 2 started on a higher note for TLPH as they locked in a balanced draft and built a quick 3-0 lead, fueled by an early Sanji double kill. However, that momentum was short-lived. Entity 7 answered with superior execution, surging ahead 6-3 in kills past the seven-minute mark. From that point, the Peruvians steadily built their lead and cruised to the win.

Philippines in Danger of Fruitless Campaign

With Team Liquid PH eliminated, Philippine hopes now rest entirely on Team Falcons, who also find themselves fighting through the lower bracket following a 0-2 loss to the defending MPL Indonesia champions Team Vitality.

The tournament so far has been difficult not only for the Philippine squads, but also for Filipino talent in general. The other three teams in the Group B lower bracket semifinals feature key Philippine players. Indonesia’s ONIC, led by jungler Kairi and gold laner Kelra, will face Malaysia’s Selangor Red Giants anchored by Kramm and Innocent. Meanwhile, Cambodia’s PRO Esports, with Koyly and Kouzen, will square off against Entity 7.
