In a clash between two of the league’s heaviest contenders, Team Liquid PH stood tall—stretching their dominant win streak to six games while handing ONIC Philippines their first back-to-back loss of the season with a cold-blooded 2-0 sweep in Week 4 of MPL PH S18 on September 12.

Team Liquid Delivers the Opening Blow

Right from the start of Game 1, Team Liquid showed that they meant business, asserting dominance across every corner of the map. KarlTzy spearheaded the charge with sharp mechanical plays on Paquito, securing all three Turtles and scoring two early kills. By the eight-minute mark, the Cavalry had built a commanding 6K gold lead and continued to widen the gap.

Team Liquid maintained full control over the following minutes, comfortably securing the Lord before stripping ONIC’s defenses down to their inhibitor turrets. Backed into the corner, the Super Family desperately needed something to get back into the game. The opportunity arrived when they spotted KarlTzy split-pushing alone in the bottom lane.

Kingkong and Savero immediately pounced on the seemingly vulnerable jungler, looking for the shutdown. Yet instead of becoming an easy target, KarlTzy turned the tables on his pursuers. The Cavalry star met their challenge head-on, unleashing brutal damage to instantly delete the duo and turn the play into a total disaster. Capitalizing on the resulting 5v3 advantage, TLPH wasted no time closing out a dominant Game 1 win.

Team Liquid Rises to the Top, Continues to Rule Over ONIC

Game 2 started with both squads trading blows right away. While ONIC managed to claim the opening Turtle, they paid the price, surrendering two quick kills to Sanji. Pushing the pace, Team Liquid also dominated the subsequent team fight, surging to a commanding 4-0 kill lead within the first five minutes.

From there, the Cavalry only grew stronger. By the nine-minute mark, their gold advantage had ballooned to a staggering 10K, allowing them to rain down relentless pressure while keeping ONIC trapped inside their own base.

Team Liquid finally delivered the finishing blow during their siege at the 11-minute mark. Kirk was the first to fall before the Cavalry isolated and eliminated SuperYoshi. With ONIC scrambling to defend, KarlTzy charged straight into the enemy base, punishing SuperFrince and Savero in the process.

Kingkong eventually managed to take down KarlTzy, but the damage had already been done. Left alone in a 1v4 against the rest of the Cavalry, the ONIC jungler could do little to stop the inevitable as Team Liquid stormed the base and sealed the series.

It was total domination from Team Liquid, as they completely outclassed ONIC throughout the series, giving up just one kill across both games. KarlTzy put on an absolute show, leading the way with a combined 9-1-7 KDA on Paquito. Sanji also delivered an impressive performance in the victory. He remained steady throughout the series, providing the extra firepower with a 3-0-4 KDA on Novaria in Game 1 before following it up with a clean 3-0-5 performance on Eudora in Game 2.

With the win, Team Liquid moved into sole possession of first place with a 6-1 record, while ONIC slipped to third at 5-2. More importantly, the victory extended Liquid’s dominance over the Super Family, marking their fourth consecutive win against ONIC dating back to last season. The Cavalry swept all three of their meetings last season, including a commanding 3-1 victory over ONIC in the Upper Bracket Final of the playoffs.
