Team Falcons Philippines blew past Aurora Gaming, 2‑0, to conquer Week 6 and soar straight to the top of the MPL Philippines Season 18 standings.
There is simply no stopping this team. Fresh off shutting down third‑seeded ONIC, the S17 runners‑up struck once more—this time sweeping fourth‑seeded Aurora Gaming and extending their winning streak to seven straight series. Unlike their previous encounter, where RORA pushed them to the limit, Team Falcons came through today in ruthless fashion.
SuperMarco and Team Falcons Sweep Aurora
Team Falcons pounced first in Game 1. Though Aurora set the early pace, the Falcons flipped it at the second Turtle with Kyle stealing the objective, while his team followed up with three kills. RORA responded sharply around the seven‑minute mark: they punished Hadji after he overextended in mid lane and used the resulting 5v4 advantage to lock up the final Turtle. But Team Falcons answered quickly, with SuperMarco scoring a double kill in their top lane clash after.
Falcons were in control then, locking down the first Lord with ease. But RORA defended fiercely. With Falcons pushing the top inhibitor turret, Domeng and Koyl spotted their chance, diving straight in and opening the door for Aurora to remove both Owgwen and Flap. SuperMarco and the rest of the Falcons struck back immediately, though, taking down three RORA members in the counter.
Team Falcons then delivered the finishing blow past the 14‑minute mark. After Aurora conceded the second Lord, they went for a counterplay, searching for a pickoff through a flank from Light and Domeng. However, the plan completely backfired, with Team Falcons coming out on top of the teamfight, securing a full five‑man wipeout to close Game 1.
The S17 runners‑up made their opening statement in Game 2, controlling the pace and securing all three Turtles. They stretched that lead over the next few minutes, finding key pickoffs across the map and claiming the first Lord.
RORA, however, found their breakthrough at the nine‑minute mark in a mid‑lane clash. Flap and the Falcons took Domeng out, but they paid dearly for diving under the turrets. Nathzz’s Alice landed a perfect Throne of Ruins, and Koyl’s Hirara provided the damage, punishing four Falcons in one devastating reversal. Nathzz went on to pick up two more kills after making the fight all even.
Still, it was the Falcons who prevailed at the second Lord fight, taking down two Aurora members and regaining control. From there, the Falcons never looked back, closing out Game 2 and the series.
MPL PH’s New Juggernaut
Team Falcons were firing on all cylinders in Week 6. Through five games, the S17 runners‑up have shown tremendous consistency and resilience, rising to every challenge along the way. SuperMarco was at the center of their dominant run, recording an outstanding 14‑3‑20 KDA, while Hadji has been equally reliable, putting up an impressive 12‑2‑26 stat line. The frontlines also shone brilliantly: Owgwen displayed great versatility as a roamer, while Flap came through in key moments.
With that impressive run, Team Falcons rose to the top of the S18 standings with a league‑best 9‑1 match record and a 19‑6 game record. They have now beaten both ONIC and Aurora Gaming twice this season and boast a flawless 5‑0 record against the league’s top contenders. With their recent performances, Team Falcons are once again in a strong position to make another deep playoff run.
