As reported by Ariel Ian Clarito of Rappler and Tiebreaker Times in his Facebook post, Alex Eala is set to play in WTA 125 Lexus Ilkley Open.
More Grass Tournament Before Wimbledon
In the previous reports of Dianne Castillejo from ABS CBN, she mentioned that after her very short stint in WTA 125 Birmingham Open, all of the following tournaments that the No. 73 will join in would be her preparation in the upcoming Wimbledon Open come June 30.
It can be remembered that the pride of Quezon City, Philippines, lost both in the 1st round of Birmingham Singles and Doubles which resulted in her early elimination in the tournament.
This time, the young tennis legend will play on the grass courts of the Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in the United Kingdom.
As per Ariel Ian Clarito, “Eala will be up against a qualifier in the opening round. A potential second-round opponent is Japanese teenager Sara Saito, whom Eala has beaten twice this year.”
Her first game for Round 32 is set to be played on June 9 (Philippine Date).
